Yeah now you're getting my point. If we could somehow magically swap the current Northam End for the mid-90's Archers Road, I'd be much more confident going into this relegation fight.

Graham Poll giving Roger East some stick on BT Sport for missing the handball. Confirms there can be no retrospective action on Doucoure for deception.

I'm not sure though that a mid 90s @Archers Road would be confident with this manager ;)

They should of had a penalty anyway so we've got nothing to cry about. End of.

But even in 2005 the atmosphere was great at most games... We've just grown to have among the most self entitled fans in the country.

At some point we're gonna have to wake the **** up and make St Marys a tough place to come to... Not gonna hold my breath though.

I'm with you on that, but conceding a pen is not a definite goal, nor is it cheating; a punch into the net is cheating. No other way to spin it. I would say the same if it was Long or one of ours.

Yeah, I hear you. But you would expect them to pay for their stubbornness if Mr Gao's investment goes south. I mean, are they untouchable?

It’s not the end of, fortunately, as it’s yet another thing that will hasten the advent of VAR and other technological assistance. I do agree that none of that will help us in today’s game, but the two incidents don’t balance out at all.

You're forgetting we had Dave Merrington as our manager at one point back then. Not even that put off the Archers! <laugh>

Van Dijk and Bertrand started acting up way before the fans did. The fans basically followed the players with being twats and slagging of Puel. Puel wasn't the problem, the players were. But fans jumped on Puel

Not really, no. I don’t care how bad the manager is, sacking them solves nothing in and of itself.

Look, Pellegrino has not delivered very satisfying results. People are frustrated and need to vent. I get that. But would be nice if every single topic of discussion didn’t have to be derailed into “Pellegrino sucks!!”

Okay, he sucks. Fine. So what is it that Pellegrino has the defense doing wrong, and what is the fix?

I couldn't disagree more. As a) sacking him does begin to solve the issue and b) the fix is simply sacking him, he's not good enough to make a fix himself, he's woefully out of his depth.

Palace, West Ham, Everton are three teams that we beat earlier in the season, and all three sacked their managers at varying points afterwards. They are now all above us. If sacking the manager doesn't help then nobody would do it, no?

And the fourth and final side, WBA, are now just two points behind us. Guess who they have in their next home game...

Looking at those 4 wins in isolation really show how poor we've been on the whole too.

Everton - worst side in the league at the time.

Wba - wonder goal late on.

West Ham - were 2-0 against ten men and still needed a questionable late penalty.

Palace - got an early goal and they had better chances - were pointless and goalless at the time.

    Pretty much agree with this.
Davis had a shocker and was giving the ball away throughout the first half as well as in the build up to the first Watford goal.
I also wanted Lemina on, earlier for Davis, as I felt PEH was a little concerned about getting a second yellow, and seemed to be holding back a little. Bringing on Lemina allowed PEH to become the first line of the midfield defence, allowing him to jockey players more rather than risk the iffy tackle.
Tadic. I have been championing the need for him or Boufal to remain on the pitch, to hold the ball up, but he can’t do that if he is sitting so deep we end up playing 4-5-1. We, as a team, need to be braver and tell him, or Boufal, to stay further forward so they remain as a genuine out ball when we are pushed back.
I also think it is the holding up play that allows us to look good going forward, as it gives time for the likes of JWP, Cedric and Bertrand to link up.
    That didn’t happen second half.

Made worse still by the kind fixtures we've had. It's not like we've still got Newcastle, Swansea, Huddersfield and Palace to play at home. In fact, three of our fellow ten competitors, we can't now take any further points from - and we're only just beyond half way.

Take WBA, the side I've just mentioned. After hosting us, they then host Huddersfield, Leicester, Burnley and Swansea in a row of home games. On the back of today's home win against Brighton. And that's just WBA.

Forget about Pellegrino. If you were the manager, what would you change? Jesus, it’s not that hard.
