Sanchez apparently wants to go to City (currently the best team and champions elect) and they want him. So he will very likely go to City.

Mourinho made a move which he knows he has absolutely nothing to lose and everything to win although his chances are small. City are expected to get Sanchez and no one expects the red mancs to be successful. But it will be a massive coup and a humiliation for Pep and City if Sanchez did change his mind when he sees a bigger pay packet being dangled in front of him.

 

Total bollocks IMO, Jose likes a big target man as a striker and if we want someone to play LF then Martial and Rashford have that covered.
City have Aguero who is miles ahead of Sanchez as a striker and Mane who is a better LF.
Chelsea would have Hazard contesting the LF position with him, striker, maybe but I doubt it.
Poor Journo's linking him with all the top teams with money in the PL, they seem to forget the rest of Europe.

 

You might think it is total bollocks but the interest from City and Pep is real. Whether they do this like Chelsea used to do to deprive rivals of a top player is uncertain but i can also see why Mourinho would want to bid on Sanchez at the very last minute. Basically it is a no lose situation for him. He's created competition for the player. With only City bidding £20m, Arsenal would probably have accepted that amount. But with Man United coming into the picture AND offering a good player as an incentive, there is a no longer a clear easy path for City. And Mourinho if successful does get a player who can create chances and score goals plus at the same time rubs Pep's nose in it.

He has basically created competition and disruption when none existed before. I think it is the sort of move that is typical of him.

If Sanchez want the City move he'll get it, if he doesn't want to go to Utd he won't, the decision is his not Wenger's, Pep's or Mourinho's.
The days of Utd first choice of club for players has gone, most are money driven and can get higher wages elsewhere (City) and those looking for trophies know that City is the place to go.
