7 ATM from what he has shown, but despite his background with FMA, he is a good manager and if we give him time, he can get us into Europe and after that - who knows

I gave him a 5 because I'm not sold on the guy yet, I still think hes a complete yes man and has misled us a fair bit at times already.

On the managerial side he hasnt done too badly I must admit, better than I thought, however some of his substitutions last season were bewildering still seems to favour players like Smith, Shola, Lovenkrands etc... instead of getting the better performers and youngsters out there.

hes intelligent which is an important quality thats sadly missing from most managers nowadays (he can actually string a sentance together!)
he may not be the best manager in the world but he'll do me fine

 

Just to clarify....I meant to put 8 for PR! Pards says the right things, and does indeed fill me with confidence. I said in a thread a while ago, that I like what he says, and he comes across rather genuine. I just feel sorry for the bloke getting ****ed over by MA over transfers.

 

I was thinking of giving him a 7, then remembered how much he plays Shola - so I will give him a 6.

 

He does some things right and some wrong. As a tactician and general manager I'd give him a 7 but for me there's something really... detestable about him so overall I'd say 6

As a manager he is doing a decent job with limited resources BUT he IS just a puppet and loves a good lie, takes back handers, has a gambling addiction and shags his players wives. Top bloke really

A lot of fans complained about lack of communication from the club, Pardew seems a lot more willing to keep us updated, unfortunealy sometimes he hasn't got a great deal to tell us (which I don't think is his fault) and this leads to him repeating himself. But at least he's making an effort.
He's been in the game long enough to pick up some tactical nouse. This showed against the unwashed, when they were pushing for an equaliser and had 4 forwards on he recognised the problem and brought Willo on and went 5 at the back. He dropped 1 from midfield to do this but still left enough up front to give us the ability to break out so we weren't hemmed into our own half trying hold a lead.
He has a decent record for us, as someone else said probably a few too many draws but some of that has to be on the players not taking chances, he can't be held accountable for everything.
In general I think he's doing an ok job under difficult circumstances, would you really want Mike Ashley & Derek Lambi-arse as your bosses?

Tactically I think he edges it over Hughton. But I think that Hughton was a better man manager and helped to create a brilliant team spirit. I think his main downfall is that he is lied to by Ashley a lot, therefore he is constantly having to cover his tracks and go back on things he's said in previous interviews.

I think the jury is still well and truly out because although he has had games he has got tactically spot on (ie Sunderland) he has also had a few go the other way (ie West Brom at home). Also I think it will take longer for fans to warm to him because of the circumstances surrounding his appointment.

 

Gave him 6/10.

 

6. I guess this is the deciding season, he started with Hughtons team so you can't comment for last season but now he's got some of his choices of player in we will finally see what he can do. I still think he needs to lay off on the PR talk though.

 

4 from me, I'm sick of hearing him say this or that will happen then exactly the opposite happens a week or two later "Carroll is going nowhere, I've made that one of the conditions of becoming Newcastle manager" (Carroll sold), "we've made him (Enrique) an improved offer, a fantastic offer" (Enrique tweets that the offer is not an improvement on his current deal at all), blah blah blah! He's either one of the most naive managers in world football and being screwed over left right and centre by Fat Mike or he's a blatant liar, either way it makes him look completely spinless!

Add to that what has already been said above about his tactics I was going to give him a 3 but since we've just beat the Unwashed again I'm gonna be generous and award a 4.

I'm still not sure how this season is going to pan out yet despite a great start but if it continues then the 4 will rise on merit!

 

Ashley said he'd give him one if he managed to keep us up without signing players for big money, I thought that was harsh and felt he'd deserve 10/10 if he did that.

It shows how tight Ashley actually is.
