On the other side though...the player who bringing back my best memories is stuart elliot..lover watching him
I remember one Xmas coming back home from Aberdeen to see the kids, and we went to a party, and the women hosting the party was Scottish, but being down in Hull for a long time there was no problem to understand her. However she had a mother down who lived in Fraserburgh which is just North of Aberdeen and no one other than me could understand a word she was saying, and I ended up translating for them.
Francis did a perfectly decent job for someone we knew was past his peak when we signed him. He wouldn't be in the bottom 50 City players I've seen.
I think you're right. 2-1 away win and they missed a pen near the end. Remember beiing in their awful away end that ran the side of the pitch. Jones deffo scored v Hartlepool at home too
The only consolation in reading all these names is I was younger when they were around. Apart from that it's the stuff of nightmares. I don't know what div 3 and 4 are like now but it can't be as bad as those days.
I liked Francis too. Although, when he was at Stockport, him and Preece were a nightmare. Francis regularly hit 30+ and Preece was never that far behind. I used to like Edgeley Park prior to it being all-seater.
I remember starting work somewhere where someone was always referred to as Rigger. I thought this was because he was a fitter or something similar. It was actually a reference to him being so slow it was like he had rigor mortis.
He probably did but it seems he played a load more other league games for us too - which I didn't remember at all
