I would like to think players acknowledged the fans lile any performer throughout the entertainment world. The only friend time has is a parking attendant. The curtain has come down on several players, now they need to move on

OK maybe i was a bit harsh but i cannot understand why NW decided to play them they are not in his thoughts for the premiership so why should they give a damn, their place should have been given to some of our upcoming players.

"Some of the players disappointed me, few of them surprised me, and one or two of them angered me. Martin Rowlands and, especially, Lee Cook had me especially cross by the end of this debacle. Firstly neither looked fit – Cook was heavy legged and Rowlands’ body packed up on him long before the end of the game at which point he was bizarrely given a standing ovation. Perhaps had they taken their pre-season games a little more seriously, rather than swanning around at a walking pace when I saw them at St Albans, they may have been a bit sharper here.

Secondly their performances smacked of players who aren’t really bothered about playing for this club, or doing enough to earn a move elsewhere. The money those two are on is enough to make your eyes water and yet they’re clearly quite happy to just stay here and pick it up while offering nothing in return. I’m embarrassed for them, which is just as well as they’re clearly not embarrassed about it themselves. They deserve to be remembered as very fine QPR players and loyal servants to this club but they are risking being remembered as a pair of mercenaries the way they are going. No disrespect to Rochdale but Cook and Rowlands were, not so long ago, considered to be two of the better Championship players. They should have torn this game a new arse."

Completely agree Rollercoaster Ranger. Rowly was the heartbeat of our club for many years, a brilliant captain and I am yet to see that determination replicated in a Rangers shirt by any of our current crop. Cookie never reached his potential for us when we bought him back but what an absolute gentleman donating his £250k signing on fee to the Club when we were on the verge of administration. When I met both of them a couple of years back, all they talked about was their love of the Club. For fans to say good riddance to these players is an absolute disgrace.

Myself and Loftboy are obviously "a disgrace" etc. What about Clive Whittingham then?

Probably kids who don't actually remember or understand what players like Cookie and Rowlands mean to a club. They served us well and were a cut above the rest at a time when we were in trouble. True Rangers legends.

It is their time to move on but that should be with our unreserved gratitude and respect, comments like those above are childish and not those of true football fans and unwelcome from any Rangers supporter, your view or not.

He is not saying “Good Riddance” though is he?

He has clearly got a lot of respect for the players and wants them to move on before that starts to dissipate. You, on the other hand, would appear not to care about what they have given the club in the past. If Paddy Kenny made a few blunders and dropped the ball into his own net, would you be showing him the door and wishing he had never been here?

No of course not. Martin Rowlands has been my favourite player since '95 and I thought he might be able to do a job this season and last. But he obviously disagrees and therefore its high time we got rid of the excess. There's far too many sh*t players in the squad and it seriously needs trimming........fast.

    Seagull got it spot on.

We've spent all Summer slamming the owners for their ruthlessness and yet do the same.

I have nothing but respect for the both and am saddened that they seem too far gone with injuries to play a serious part for us.

As fans, we're allowed to be sentimental.

Warnock is paid to make tough, not so sentimental, decisions so leave it to him.

Perhaps they do a lot of good behind the scenes (helping youth players etc).

If they move on, they go with my thanks, fond memories and eternal gratitude as dedicated players and ultimately fans of the club.

Sorry. It was Rollercoaster who echoed my thoughts and Seagull who seconded them.
