It would be terrible if Everton did go bust.
But this is only a joke. Have any of you heard the blueshite lullaby.
I don't know all the words but it goes something like this

Right across Stanley Park
Theres a creepy old castle

There are two scenarios I would love.

1) Liverpool and Everton fighting it out for glory (with Liverpool winning of course).
2) Everton fighting every season to avoid relegation (but never going down).

I either want a good scrap with them- or to have a good laugh at them... I don't want them to be in serious trouble though... certainly would hate it if they went into administration or got relegated.
 
If Everton or Man United went bust, the reasons for watching football would decrease as the fun would go out of it. The rivalry and the banter is what makes things interesting.

Yeah- I used to hate Schumacher in F1. He retired and I've never since been as big a fan of F1. I wasn't constantly trying to make his engine explode using only my mind any more. Instead of getting up 5am on Sundays to watch the race- now I only watch 2 or 3 a year... and then usually if I catch the race by accident. (I even ran my own F1 forum at one point- it was F1 not football that used to be my focus). Losing Schumacher killed that for me.

Don't dislike United or Everton as much as I disliked $chumacher though.
 
I dislike Man United, but for the life of me I wouldn't want them to go bust, the fun would certainly go out of watching football, the same applies to Everton too. Its having a gloat when we beat either and being upset when we lose to either is what its all about. It does hurt but if either didn't exist, it would be a lot worse.
 
Yeah, I wouldn't want to lose either team- they're our historical rivals... BUT... I'm sure in their absence other rivals would emerge.

During Rafa's first few years it looked like we were developing quite a rivalry with Chelsea. Last few years Arsenal fans have been a whole lot less friendly to us- there never used to be animosity there.

I think it is impossible for a club to exist without picking up rivals.

Same time rivals can go- does anyone really hate Nottingham Forest anymore?
 
Wasn't there at one time a bit of a rivalry with Leicester City, I think it was in the early to mid 70s, they had a bit of a hoodoo over us, and it took us a while to break it, and it was great when we did, from what I can remember having done my research it was in the FA Cup that we ended it. At the time Peter Shilton was their keeper, this was before he joined Forest.

Well why do I keep hearing radio adverts offering tickets? Anfield is sold out until 2012, are you trying to tell me that they keep spending money on radio adverts to try and fill a few obstructed view seats?
 
You guys should really give ArabianExpat a break. He posted a great original post with a lot of truths in it. Don't lower yourselves with silly insults towards the Blues - although the half season tickets offer always make me smile - as the Blue's fans tend to be the "real" fans in the city. That's not an insult to us Reds.. just a plain truth. The majority of their fans are local and go week in, week out (and moan non-stop on a monday!).

I was born, bred, raised (dragged up?) and still live in the shadow of Goodison and can assure you all that despite the clubs current monetary problems, it is still a great club, doing better on the pitch that what they should. Moyes and Kenwright stopped them from eventually being relegated (up to now of course) and their efforts should be applauded. Who wants Everton to go down? Nobody I hope.

Everton had a chance of a fresh start in Kirby but the locals put paid to that... that could end up costing Everton their Premiership status within a few years, as Moyes moves on and the club flounders. Let's wish them all the best in their search for investment.
 
I hate to say it but Moyes has done a fantastic job considering his availability of resources. I hope the pundits are not correct and that he doesn't go to United next. Please let Steve Bruce go to United... mwuh hahahahahaa
 
as an evertonian i applaud moyes and what he has done for the club, but he is nothing majorly special, he will never be taken on by united talk of that is ridiculous, he is far too defenseive for a place at any top european club, for moyes it will be the best of the rest for him, he hasnt got a clue when it comes to plan b and his record when he spends money isnt that great, hes good at the bargains though, all the strikers he has bought have failed, he has removed every attacking coach at the club since he arrived.

but hes not as good as ppl say in advertsity and against the wall he can be good but he is too inept to take charge of a big club looking to win trophies, he doesnt know how to win a game by more than 2 goals for a start, and always sets the side up to not get beat and his brillaintly inspired substitutions the other day when losing 1-0 to replace your only striker on the pitch with a cdm and leave 3 strikers on the bench is not only mind boggling its downright inexcusable and then he had the nerveto go tv and say we needed strikers, u left three on the bench.
 
I agree with Milk.
If Moyes went to Man United, Rooney would be out of there faster than it takes him to visit a kebab shop. They don't get on since Moyes took legal action over Rooneys book. The edition Moyes got didn't come with the promised pack of free crayons. Moyes was awarded £1.50.
Steve Bruce would make an excellent Man United manager.
 
As Kenwright is not the majority shareholder (or so I'm told) why isn't more pressure being put on him/them to effect a financial rescue package?

i made an oversight on that claim and forgot to edit lol, he actually is a majority sharehoulder by a thousand or so shares over robert earl i believe, he wasnt up til a year or two ago, and back in 06 was nothing more than a minority shareholder the gregg family had the majority of shares.
