Aina doing the presser with Nige this afternoon. please log in to view this image Adkins up first “There are negotiations in place as we speak and we'll see how that goes. There are bids on the table and hopefully we'll have some success with those. A central defender and a wide player would be important additions.” “I watched Will Keane the other night at Ferriby and I'm really excited about him. It's brilliant to hear he's scored again today and lets hope he can get more game time at the weekend. If he comes through that then we'll target the Nottingham Forest game for Will.” “Grosicki is close but will miss out at the weekend. Mazuch is joining in training again tomorrow but I'm conscious not to rush him back too quickly. It's definitely more positive though.” “It's great that we've got a little bit more competition for places. It's the first time we've had that since I came in and we need that given the run of fixtures we've got coming up. Seb Larsson and Michael Dawson will return to the squad after getting a rest.” “Saturday will be a tough game. Reading are the best possession based team in the division so we'll need the crowd to stay with us and understand what we're trying to do. They've got threats so we need to be aware of that and stick to our task to win a game of football.” “We had to sell everybody during my time at Reading and we managed to keep the club going. I played nine of the Academy players in the Championship so that will be one of my proudest career achievements whilst I was there. We did a lot of things to keep that club going.” The end.
It’s interesting really that he didn’t get the gig in the summer. I wonder if The Slut was basically working for free?
I posted this at the time and got slated. But Martin Samuel had it right I reckon. "Despite a fine track record in Russian football with CSKA Moscow, we all know the great attraction in Leonid Slutsky for Hull City. Loan signings. As a friend of Roman Abramovich, Hull think Slutsky may be able to bring in some talented youngsters from Chelsea on the cheap. It is another of the loan system's flaws — it lends itself to the old pal's act. A young coach with a direct line to Sir Alex Ferguson was once considered a catch for the same reason Slutsky is now. 'Of course it is possible that some of Chelsea's players can be loaned,' Slutsky teased, and Hull took the bait. Tomas Kalas, Lucas Piazon, Kasey Palmer and Izzy Brown have all been mentioned as possible temporary acquisitions. The same logic got Avram Grant through the door at Portsmouth and later West Ham. Harry Redknapp recalls being sold Grant as technical director at Fratton Park because he would help get players from Chelsea. Later, he returned as manager, failed to secure any advantageous loans and took Portsmouth down. This did not stop West Ham acquiring his services the following season with identical results: no Chelsea loan players, and the drop. One cannot help wondering why, if Abramovich holds Slutsky in such high regard, he is not now managing Chelsea. He was available after the 2016 European Championship, just the same as Antonio Conte.
Thanks for posting that Lammo. As regards the following: "“We had to sell everybody during my time at Reading and we managed to keep the club going. I played nine of the Academy players in the Championship so that will be one of my proudest career achievements whilst I was there. We did a lot of things to keep that club going.” That sounds a little worrying.
Grosicki still not fit, sounds familiar, don't they normally get transferred in the window, or return just after it closes if no one wants them?
Ehab won't want his saleable asset injured. As we know the Allams have no interest in Hull City other than to strip every penny out of the club by selling players and allowing contracts to run dead whilst banking the parachute payments.
I'd say he'd rather have him playing and playing well so teams then buy him....id also pretty confidently say turbo wouod rather be playing to play for a move ATM....look at how he turned it on Just before the end of the summer window
