Spurs aren't a properly big club though are they?

They're in that tier below the really big clubs with the likes of Everton and Villa.

Yep, shout outs to Newcastle and West Ham.

Clubs that think they're big because they sit in big stadiums.

im not being pedantic about it though. It might not be what he said...but it's what he meant.

You can't just look at the statement...you got to look at who is making it and what angle he is approaching it from.

Too long in the tooth to not be able to read between the lines.

My bad Libby ... you are quite correct <ok> .... there are those clubs that have won the EPL title... then that mini-league below them ... for those that haven't <whistle>

Not a properly big club...but big enough to have expectencies and ambitions. End of the day Spurs fans don't have a problem with the size of their club...but every other **** does <ok>

    That about sums it up.

Of course we can’t compete on the increasingly necessary financial level that the other five of the top six can.

I didn't actually say that he did, just that his predecessors didn't. But he is all about moving our club to a position where we have the same resources as our major competitors. That at least gives us a chance of winning it without needing the perfect storm that Leicester took advantage of.
But Liverpool and Arsenal have been in that position for a number of years without troubling the scorers so nothing is guaranteed.

It's the PL board of course there's an ulterior motive... Ffs Spurlock you're better than this <laugh>

So you agree with the assertion that big clubs win league titles?

No I don't agree with that assertion because little pointless Lesta won it too.

    The theory is obviously flawed

No but that's where you're getting confused. I'm not saying winning it makes you a big club. Leicester won it and clearly aren't.

But surely to be considered a big club you must have won it relatively recently? Or at least have a long record of winning them.

Oh I think it does ... it empirically demonstrates that those club that's win the EPL title are 5 times more likely to remain at the top end of the EPL rather than doing a Blackburn <ok>
