N'Jie did actually contribute things to the team a few times when he came on as a sub - I think we've missed him. I guess he really wanted to leave or something? GKN really has offered absolutely bugger all since he came. Past teams and transfer fees are surely the only reason anyone at Burnley wants him. I can't see much there at all.
Believed to be a better N'Jie ?? (N' )K follows J in the alphabet ?? Twitter distraction from the pain that is Sissoko ??
I'd say in fairness to Big Kev he wasn't really a flop or bad signing, just more of a case that sporadic appearances in the second season meant he found it tough getting a rhythm going. He was immense when he stepped in for Jan in the first season and gave the impression that he could be a long term heir to Jan so to speak but it just didn't work out for him in the end. 99% of CBs wouldn't get in our XI over Jan and Toby. The Njie and Nkoudou deals are just two of the strangest ones I've seen us make. Njie was never needed and then the fact we replaced him seemed even more bizarre. Hopefully GK can can re-ignite his career with the loan and that it can attract appropriate interest from someone to sign him on a perm in the summer. I must admit I was excited about Janssen. I know top scorers in the eredivisie has been hit and miss in the Prem but the highlights I saw made me feel we'd signed the Dutch Kane... not one of my finest moments . Foyth seems really composed for a young guy, in his short appearances to date he's reminded me a bit of how Woodgate played, just sheer calmness but he lacks the ability to have a real tussle. You'd hate to see him man mark guys like Deeney, Carroll and those of that ilk. Plenty of time to adapt though and like you say a loan could be good for him.
The thing with GKN is that the logic of signing him was pretty sound, as there was talk that N'Jie was slacking off in training (the Cameroon coach said exactly that) so with that being the case bringing in a player in the same role who'd actually put the effort in makes a lot of sense. The issue is that N'Jie didn't appear to make much sense in the first place, so why sign someone to replace someone we didn't need instead of sign an understudy in a position that needed additional players?
It has to be to a team that play proper football though. No good him going to a Pulis type of team. Posh has said in the past that he wants see the young players for two seasons before considering loans, so I think that it won’t happen yet. I think he will bulk up in next couple of years and training with Toby, Jan and Davison will definitely improve him
Sessegnon Watch Get West London have an article which includes "Sessegnon rejects Tottenham" in the headline - yet the words "Tottenham" or "Spurs" don't feature anywhere in the article, which happens to be the results of a fan survey rather than any actual news, other than the headline and the article tags. I'd say that deserves a Levying...
Slightly hopeful that GKN departing will open the door for a pacy attacker to be brought in. Son simply cannot carry that burden on his own and surely Poch sees this?! As for 1/4th I saw enough on Sunday to convince me that he is a talent. 19 is incredibly young for a CB. He has years ahead to improve and - most importantly - bulk up a bit. And there are few players in the game better than Jan and Toby to learn from.
Malcom rumours continue to grow in volume, although he'd likely come with a fee that makes us wish we kept GKN to use as a makeweight - and that's before considering he's one of those players where it's likely anyone bidding would set off a transfer auction.
You'd like to think so. CM will constantly remain the number one priority for me but another wide player is a strong second. Whether it's pacy or not I'm not too fussed but we need someone who can make an impact from out wide. With Lamela still building sharpness (along with the fact there's a strong argument to say he's better suited in a central attacking role), Son is the only guy we can rely on to create havoc from outwide. If it wasn't for the fact he only joined Watford in the summer I'd happily see us take a punt on Richarlison, looks like a real handful and should only get better with time. Zaha would also be good but I don't think Palace will sell in Jan unless the bid is stupid money. Don't know anything about Malcolm so can't comment. PSG have thrown Moura on the transfer list I think, that could be a very decent option if the club looked into it. Failing any of those or other options, there's a case to bring one of the youth players into question, Georgiou perhaps after his impressive pre-season, Edwards is obviously someone we all wanna see at some point or maybe Bennetts, he seems to play LB/ LW/ RW so could do a job.
The answer to your questions rhymes with 'messy yawn'. And it will cost significantly less than famous Crusader, Malcolm of Bordeaux.
This could work out really well for all concerned, if N'Koudou adapts to Dyche's way of working. He'll have to improve his defensive game and graft his arse off, but they're two things that Pochettino would be looking for anyway. Burnley have got quite a few injuries, so hopefully he'll go straight into the mix and make an impact.
He is pushing further and further up the flank this season. 7 goals and iirc 5 or 6 assists is a superb contribution for a LWB. With a solid back 3 behind him he could be lethal. KWP's performance against Wimbeldon actually reminded me a lot of him. Happy to take players on and often looked to drive into the box instead of taking it to the byline. May have been because he wanted to cut back onto his right but the similarities were there.
