From an outsider's point of view, I liked shiny as a mod or not - blunt and sometimes aggressive but hey, so what?

Although obviously and rightly biased toward his own club on here, he seemed to keep an even head without using his forum powers like others.

The best forum moderators are those you don't really see as such. No need to get involved and let the forum(s) flow unless there's real breach of ethics that needs intervention. Deleting posts because they upset you or when requested to by another member to do so without very good reason is poor moderation.

Shiny fella - keep posting and I'll continue to annoy you on times - you never know we might agree on something one day.

 

Thanks for the kind words Wiz, appreciate it! Wasn’t aware how long I’d been MOD! Still grieve over R Marv but we had some good times. So long as the City are, I’ll still be around. Here’s to a promotion push!

Shiny, I feel like on this forum we witnessed a boy growing into a man with you.
Please don’t take that the wrong way - I genuinely mean that with the best of intentions.
Gradually over the years your posts and comments have become more thoughtful and less spontaneous - although I do miss some of the humour of the early days.
I wish you the very best with your venture in the licenced hospitality business - bloody hard work with hardly any holiday, working all the hours is not for me any more, but I did it for a while years ago and I know how much work is involved.
Keep posting - and thanks for being a mod.

Wiz, Wiz, Wiz - for goodness sake stop getting so upset on a public football chat forum.

For someone who's been a stalwart of your board for years and seen as something of an elder statesman on here to react to forum banter in this manner is ridiculous. There's a misconception that on N606 this is "the Bristol City board" and for posters to behave as though it is a dedicated club board like OITB and a few over on the Cardiff side as well.

Not so - N606 is a national public football forum and so much better than them because it allows visitors from other clubs to interact with each other over football and other matters. Of course that includes banter and disagreements between posters but isn't that better than the introverted parochial stuff we're all used to?

There's a place for everyone on these forums and whilst visitors can be provocative, there is no need to delete their posts and exclude them because of personal issues.

You've mentioned a few of your posters on another thread whom I've supposed to have upset. I won't name them but get on with them no problem at all - you are totally wrong in that assessment. I invite you to engage in a competitve spirit on this chat forum like many other of your members do or leave the rest of us to get on with it.

 

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE lets all get on whether poster on here, our board or guest/ visitor ... yes some of the banter cuts to the quick but is very seldom if ever foul mouthed at your face abuse. AND THE OPTION IS SIMPLE just don't reply for the sake of it... I don't after a few exchanges that I DEEM NOT TO BE PROGRESSIVE....
