HAPPY NEW YEAR 2018 2017 ON THIS BOARD FIZZLED OUT... and from a few PM'S I received it is due to the discord created a month or so by the withdrawal of stickies which actually caused a big increase in worthless posts where competitions were needed to be bumped up from about 10th place to top 3 or 4 spaces. It is really in the bigger picture not an issue that maybe 6 places at the top of the board are stickies, very very rarely if ever they did "active posts ever get off the front page. Keeping an eye on the board over a month posts were mainly kept in the non stickied top 10 slots those actually active were with an exchange regularly 4 or more in a day in top 4 so everything would fit into top 12 even if 6 were stickied. Since compos stopped "coincidence?" ( I think not due to a couple pm's, ) input and interest has waned in contributing, or taking part. The same "comment / request was uttered last season" and before Christmas one of my coffee morning crew said " no matter where you go or what you do you will always find a party pooper or two" the combined age by the way of our last coffee morning added up to 399 max is 546 and city support years was 310 years ... max is 381! another comment from a UNI professor, an award winning public speaker " is a person who monitors the input in an on-line forum blastphemus, degoratory or bad language, content which is inappropriate or misleading and comments of a bullying nature. A good forum runs itself without the need to have a dictatation as to what people should say or do, excepting the previous comments " I did state before my exped to the frozen NW (and boy wasn't that an understatement -14c coldest -7 when I arrived and days temps were -6 ; -10 ; -3 ; -4.7 ; -14; -6 ; -4 ;-3 ; 1 -2c add in windchill and ?????) I was going to carry on with my compo's and I will decide whether to by the end of the day. wandering up and down the mountain for 4 to 6 hours 3 or 4 times is a lot of thought time and I am pretty much 50 -50 on moving boards and stopping the compo's. lets hope after our 2 games against Man City we get back on track and finish top 6... go to Wemglee and take the consequence in positive spirit COYR
Funny, I’ve recieved PMs about your pointless posts clogging up the board JGF. If interest in your games have whimpered I don’t think it’s because they’ve fallen down a few places, probably more likely nobody has a clue what you’re on about. When I and wiz ran the games they got around 25-30+ entrants per weeks. Now they get 10 on a good day. Now put your shovel away, I’ve had enough of your digs.
But to help matters, I’ll stand down now as MOD as I really can’t be assed and I’ll hand the responsibility over to you. If anyone wants me you can find me on OTIB, Twitter or LPTW thread. Cheers all, it’s been a pleasure.
unfortunately I cant remember your games? certainly those of WIZ and others I do and enjoyed taking part, and those games I posted up were continuations of those others did not have the time to continue with. It does not bother me one iota how many play in a game its like monopoly or scrabble as long as there is 2 or more it is a game... not everyone enjoys competing., and if people get the enjoyment from it and I am part of it then goodeeeee . All games at the start of this season were under subscribed to, maybe a fresh outlook was needed! But since your comments regarding stickies they have gone down hill or dissapeared not everybody likes every post and I am aware that mine, and a few others do sometimes fall outside of their "expectations" but that is what forums are about, diversity of opinion and information that may or not be of interest.
You can’t remember my games ffs mate you’re the one doing them now!! I ran the score predictions and attendance predictions games, which I took over from Wiz. You then took over from me. Carry on as you are JGF. You’re doing an amazing job.
Shiny, what's up mate, there is no need for you to stand down, take a breather, have a break, what ever floats your boat, I can't talk for others but I want you to remain on board.
If it's any consolation Shiny, I think you've been doing a fine job, as did Wiz when he was MOD.. Your jobs on here are often taken for granted but I appreciate the time required to set things up...
