Rochdale away please! On my doorstep and most importantly revenge for the horrible beatings that they inflicted on us in League 1
Nope. It's singling players out for ridicule and abuse I find objectionable - not describing their ability as being short of the highest standards. Which is why I specifically said that I don't blame the players, for not being better than they are. Anyone can see they are trying, and anyone who thinks Redmond deserves the slating he gets from a section of our support, needs to have a word with himself.
I was on my way to San Francisco during that particular game so couldn't follow the game whilst during the flight, but I asked one of the attendants if she could ask the pilot to find the result, which she duly did and gave me the good news. My flight was a lot calmer after that
Yeah, but you're actually complaining about a WIN, calling it a "waste of time." If Saints had lost would you have been happy? No. You'd be complaining about how **** we are when we can't even beat a championship side. I understand you're depressed about the state of the team, and one game isn't going to change your opinion, especially a narrow win in a game we should be expected to win. I get it. I don't blame you. We're in some **** right now, no question. But the team and the team situation didn't get worse today because we won. Acting like a win is worse than a loss is going a little overboard, no?
I think the Pellegrino issue has been discussed enough. FWIW, my take on it is I do think he is be scapegoated to some extent, but that doesn't mean he has to keep his job. In a nutshell, I disagree with the notion that we SHOULD be better. I don't disagree that we COULD be better. And we'll have to be. So no one is safe. If we weren't stinking it up in most areas, we wouldn't be where we are now. Manager is no exception. If there's a better manager out there, and there very well might be then we have to make the move. Anything that improves the team. I don't see sacking Pellegrino as some kind of magic bullet that will automatically keep us up, but I also don't have a problem if he gets sacked. But all I was saying was that Hojbjerg coming off for Lemina was not an awful decision to me. Did every one else really think it was that horrendous? Or are they just booing Pellegrino now whenever they see a chance to express their general opinion that they think he sucks?
I listened to it from the bath. I couldn’t break Anything during the game then and welll if the worst happened.... the wife could have thrown the radio in the bath
I think the verbal attacks on MP are simply having a go at an opportune moment when he actually has made a decision. This situation was the same as the end of the season last year against Puel that led to him being sacked and no doubt lead to M P going sooner rather than later. At the end of the day there is little else fans can do if they want the manager out of their club. Ralph admitted in his I view that he takes little notice of fans letters so there is little else they can do to influence the board. I have seen discussion on Facebook forums about take PM Out signs to the next home game. Like Puel, MP has lost the most verbous element of the crowd and suspect unless the board take decisive action (I know that won't happen) that the atmosphere against MP will be most unpleasant at the next SMS game
If people want to boo, and turn up to games with MP Out signs, then maybe that is their right and there's little the rest of us can do to stop them. They should stop calling themselves supporters though. Fairweather ****ers would be more appropriate imo.
Are people really whinging that in amongst 90 minutes of excellent support there was a single chant of "you don't know what you're doing?" Yes, people joined in because 99% of people in the crowd agree that he isn't a good enough manager. Some people just love to moan. The tactics for the last 15 minutes were ridiculous: We have dominated this game. They are awful. Time to sit back and snooze. I enjoyed the support. The game was pretty dire. Fulham were dreadful. We were okay. Nice to see a win.
It wasn't just one chant. Sections of the crowd were muttering, whining, and just waiting their chance. Some ****ing spanner behind me kept yelling "keeper's on" every time anybody played a sideways pass - McCarthy certainly heard him. Do you think it helps the players to hear this bollocks? I doubt very much, btw, that it was the manager's tactics to sit back and invite pressure at the end of both halves. That comes from lack of confidence. Fulham weren't dreadful by the way. Nice to see a win though.
Ok, there was no analysis, no probable team line up, no bonus fact, we didn't have the force, not even a fncking crest but hey, it worked. Keep it up number 7
Dead right. The atmosphere at SMS seems so poisonous now, I reckon the players are happier playing away, when, at least most of the fans are behind them and not moaning about everything. Personally I think it started about a year ago, when Puel couldn’t do anything right, these “fans” started getting on certain players backs and the performances suffered. I note, interestingly enough, that most of the Palace supporters, seemed to be behind the club at home, even when they had that awful start to the season. Our ones seem only to be happy when they have someone to moan at. I’m not sure nowadays that there’s even one player who doesn’t come in for some abuse during the game - and it must affect them somehow, surely? I can be disappointed, but I’ll still shout, cheer and encourage players - that’s called being a fan, in my book
