I've updated the Rules for place betting (ie same as for the Saturday League Comp)

I might have to think about how I administer this comp <laugh>

The Saturday League comp takes a few minutes a week (ie from recording all the entries through to producing the League Table). That's because I import all the runners and it's fully automated. With this comp, due to it's nature, I didn't expect there to be so many bets, so importing runners everyday seemed OTT. The consequences are that, having been out all day, and only having internet at my daughter's for a while, there will be a delay in producing the League Table. Sorry about that. I'll continue on the same basis for a while because, at this rate there may not be many left in soon <whistle>

Re Rule 4 ....... your solution would be fairest for bets placed close to the day of the race, but quite unfair for a winning bet placed essentially ante post a couple of weeks/months earlier. I'd be inclined to ignore R4 completely!
I tend to agree Reebs

Second point is a bit trickier, although I'm not sure that their odds would change once preferred race is announced. Bookies will surely price up each race on it's merits?
Except the horse I quoted was odds on in 2 races last night with rather generous odds for the other runners for whichever race it didn't run in

Did you come to any decision about the ATR/Oddschecker question Ron?
No. ATR goes up to 23rd June which seems far enough in advance. Did you have a race in mind you wanted to bet in?

Potentially, the Arc. Yes it's a long way off and plenty can and will happen before then, but prices reflect this. Not a method to go overboard with, but potentially a nice little earner as Arfur might say :)

Let me know if you want a bet on the Arc Reebs. For the time being I'll change the ante post rules to include "others may be available on request"

Cheers Ron. I've been trying to think of a way to make the admin a bit easier, but can't come up with anything useful at the moment! I well understand how time consuming it will be though. There has to be a way ........ !!

The problem is Reebs, without importing the horses engaged there is no way everyone will get the horse's name right, let alone the spelling <laugh>

With the other comp for example, if 10 people select the same horse, recording the result for that horse is all I have to do. If 5 different horses are selected in one race I only have to record the result of that race and it's all done. At present, in this comp, I'm copying and pasting everyone's bets and have to record the result of each bet. I think I'll link the 2 systems so that on Saturdays I can utilise the stream lining of the other comp. Yep, that's what I'll do. Bound to be more bets on a Saturday

Is this just horse racing or for anything else as I've had a little punt on the next stoke manager and wondered if I could speculate here also.
Gary monk 16/1 - 20 .

If not no problem as I appreciate how difficult this is.

No, sorry NDS. Just horse racing. I did run a Virtual Betting Shop once which accepted any bets but not at present as I also run 2 football comps

Managed to get the wife's mobile sorted so I can get access from home. Sped the admin up a bit. Sad to see Chelsea exit so soon

I've taken that as 3 single bets NDS (only singles allowed)

Ron I do believe I'm a 100 in the hole, not 85. I had 3 bets, all in the National. The fault was mine. I didn't properly explain what I wanted. Sorry mate.

20 x 20 Emperior's Choice.
15 x 15 Vincente.
15 x 15 Silsol.

All lost.
No, my fault entirely Cyc. I didn't select ew for Silsol. Will correct later
