oh dear,at least lewis got some match time and youngsters ibe and harris got a bit more first team experience
Has anyone else noticed that the BBC seem determined, in their match reports, to keep referring to us as "League Two side Wycombe Wanderers"?
First of all, Forest were excellent and had near enough their strongest team. But we just were'nt up for it from the start. Awful first half from us and lucky not to be 6-0 down with Bull sent off for the penalty. It was decent at times in the second half and the (small) crowd really got behind the lads. Benyon and Grant were lively, Winfield got much tighter on Ishmael Miller, McCoy was very good going forward and tracking back, good to see Lewis back too. If Bloomfield could have taken some corner taking lessons from Donnelly then we might have done more. Best bit about the night though was Harris, who confirmed to me that he is ready to play a big part this season. Ibe won't be far behind. Did anyone else hear that Alex Ferguson was there watching these two? Someone reckons Solako said it on Sky.
It was tough game last night against a very good Notts Forest side, Ishmail Miller was scoring for West Brom in the prem before he got injured so he is a class player, fortunately after getting a goal and winning a peno he seemed to lose a bit of interest; he is almost the same size as Winfield but a mobile quick striker, amazing. I was pleased with the way we kept fighting even though we were a smaller, slower, and less talented team, it showed heart and if we carry on like that I think we will definately avoid relegation. Kadeem Harris looks excellent, and Jordan Ibe looks like he has bags of potential, but I left feeling sad because as soon as we start using these two their going to get bought by a bigger club and we can say goodbye to another player that Wycombe could have tried to build a team around.
