I'm undecided on the strength of the squad... Could be a good chance for Pel' to trial some new tactics with the players he wants in the team but I really think we should of gone a bit weaker by starting at least a couple more non regulars.Additionally I would of liked to see Forster in goals and started Gabbiadini. The constant exemption of Gabbiadini from the starting 11 is starting to get suss. Long is not that good to warrant a start every bleeding week; especially with an FA match.

Especially when Gabbiadini is a far better footballer too. Just suggests to me that MP2 doesn't know what to do with him. Sadly.

why is Sims in ahead of Hesketh? Sims has played 45 minutes of football while Hesketh has been the key attacking figure in an u23 side that's scored 14 goals in its last 6 matches. I rate Sims but really?

I see Stefan Johansen is playing for Fulham today. Thought he was good at McLaren, but struggled when he went to Ferrari.

They're about to talk about us after the break on Soccer Saturday. Interested to hear MLT observations.

Only trouble is, am now having to sit through that sodding Paddy Power advert with the bloke singing Gold. It makes me quite stabby.

Maybe Hesketh is going on loan somewhere to someone still in the cup? No idea, but I agree with you. In an ideal world, they'd both be on the bench and Redmond would be thrown out the squad!

Call my crazy but I'm starting to get the sneaking suspicion that Pellegrino might by out of his depth and not entirely sure himself of what he is doing. <laugh>

This lineup just makes no sense, but that the theme this season. Continuous changes with no reason or logic behind them.

MLT - "that shows to me a manager lacking in belief in himself and possibly his team"

"when you're on top, you have to kill the game off"

"to try and play possession in the other teams half just to keep the ball doesn't look good to me"

    Charlie Nicholas

"Every decision he makes creates nervousness around the team and a tension around the dressing room"

"His decisions are always quite strange to me. He has to get a result"

    Phil Thompson

"Hojbjerg was the best player on the team, and he was dropped the next game"

    MLT

"He needs someone brave enough around him to say this isn't working, try this. He only has two people of his own there"

    Alan McInally

"The changes he makes aren't brave changes. They're like for like. He's always been too safe, and that's not good enough for Southampton"

    MLT

"We'd welcome Walcott back. That's an area we've struggled. If we can get him in and playing regular football then he'd definitely improve us"

"He's not going to be given until the end of the season with a run like this"

Side note: I do like Craven Cottage. Nice little old-school stadium. What are the pies like there?

I'm watching an American Stream. The pronunciation of player names and saying "zero - zero" is torture.

Other than Austin, no one really has a goal scoring record that justifies their inclusion in the side. Gabbiadini got a decent run just before Austin’s goal run and didn’t really make great most of his chance. In fairness to Long, he works his socks off every game whether he scores or not

Pied seems to be another Frazer Richardson - good player, but persistently getting injured.
