It feels like he’s just stopped doing anything. At all. By some accounts Charnley is telling people he’s done in Feb and also doesn’t really care. Even with dumb and dumber we had the odd rumour and activity. This month, nothing! Edit: Allegedly the club are now just waiting for the imminent decision from the PL for ownership approval. AS won't be the owner, so I'd guess the owner or owners would need to be put forward. Surely for approval you'd just say to the PL "well, it's NOT Mike Ashley".
We can have a chuckle that anyone but Ashley would be welcome. That's got some accuracy in it, but there are worse football club owners. Ask the mob down the road if they would swap owners. The suspense and non-action that is typically Ashley is painful though.
It's a bit like Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Once we all see the final instalment, the conclusion, all this unfathomable crap might make more sense. If he has indeed as has been claimed sold up already, wouldn't it then make sense why there's simply no real sign of either him or Charnley doing, well, anything?
Ashley normally does acquisition deals quickly. I wouldn’t put it past him to have agreed the deal at that curry house then just booled away on hols thinking ‘job done’.
Either Richard Desmond - multi-billionaire - is easily pleased, or there was something more in his beaming smile/double fist pump.
Did say a few weeks back I think it may all be done and they are waiting for A) people getting desperate to shift players later in the window and B) to stop people adding a premium to the purchase price if they know we have money in the bank. Equally though it is Ashley and Charlney and they are probably just finalizing bits that could have been done back in November or haggling over who buys the celebratory Greggs once the deal goes through.
Excellent point indeed. That would explain Rafa's press conference, where he's still waiting to hear what his budget is. The two goons have left the building. HURRAH!!
http://www.skysports.com/football/n...sure-of-newcastles-transfer-budget-in-january That look like a guy with nothing to spend, staring relegation in the face? I swear throughout he's stifling a fit of laughter....
He does seem to be holding back. Not sure if it’s a ‘if I don’t laugh i’ll Cry’ type laugh or a ‘i’m Gonna have £100m to spend in a few days’ type of laugh..
