I'm the opposite: we simply cannot afford to lose any more winnable league games. In the cup, though? We're not good enough to challenge for a winner, and we're not safe enough that an edifying run to the quarterfinals can be viewed as meaningful.

While possible, the odds are extremely low; I'd rather maximize our chances of being i) in the Premier League and ii) kinda not terrible in the Premier League, because that would provide a much better chance of winning cups in the future.

A guaranteed cup, perhaps, though it'd depend on what came thereafter. A 5% better chance to win a cup at the expense of a 5% worse chance of remaining in the PL, not for me.

Actually still hoping that we bring in a couple of players that suit him over the next couple of weeks and he turns out to be a decent manager which I don't think is as far fetched as some certainly believe.

So I'm hoping for a 5 - 1 like when we played them earlier in the season with our reserves which showed pellegrino Austin deserved to start and helped our season.

No, what will be will be, and MP’s future will depend upon the overall results he achieves, not on the result of one game. In that context, hoping that we lose just to prove that he loses is an illogical position. IMO.

 

It’s not to “prove that he loses”, he’s done enough to show that this season. It’s to ensure his quick departure. You say his future will depend on the results he achieves - do you feel he hasn’t done enough damage on that front already? Genuinely interested - I’m sure that there are those other than Ralph/Les that feel he deserves time, an you may be one, so I’d be interested to hear the reasoning there.
