You know the script PJ, she just says she asked him to show her the latest karate move he's learnt at his local Dojo, twice.
I don't think we should sack him unless that is going to apply to all players and we know very well that it's not going to. The club should take it seriously and look at his status within the club and what he has done and allow him to leave to pursue a career elsewhere. It's not like he's worth much anyway. There's no way fans would be calling for Salah to be sacked if he had done this.
That’s the point I was making. If you are a high profile player (Rooney drink driving) you appear to be okay. But if Flanno slaps his Mrs it’s all hell breaks lose. Evans was sacked for alleged rape, but these two will possibly get away without more than a fine from the club.
I agree there's a double standard here in terms of what star players and lesser players are able to get away with when it comes to their behaviour and conduct. I mean we built an entire cult of personality around Suarez with those t-shirts after the Evra incident for example and then all the other **** that he did. That was all on the pitch and always directed at other footballers though, not that I'm saying it makes any of it right, or better or worse. Simply that Flanagan has knocked a woman around, in public. That's very different. I don't think I'd want him playing for the club again and sacking him would probably only fan the flames so best to let him leave and basically start the end of his career quietly
seriously if you get jail time you are in violation of several clauses in contract and dismissal for cause is possible.
He's a footballer, so unlikely to see jail time (another double standard). He'll get a fine, some community service maybe, a slap on the wrist, and his girlfriend won't give him head for a few weeks. That's all he will be punished.
She should leave him for that, but bet she won't. Blessing of a footballer, women will throw themselves at you. Curse of a footballer, they're after your money. A few bruises won't keep her away from the millions.
She didn’t press charges, so the converse view is that it’s unlikely it’d have made it to court in the first place in those circumstances
The cps would've looked at the evidence provided by the police and if they think there's enough for a conviction they will charge him, his gf has no say
