I stand corrected, Dickp. But there does seem to be a pattern emerging of players coming back from injury, playing a game or two, and getting injured again, for example Pearce and Kashi most recently. JFC played through an injury and is now out for a while. Something similar with Fosu I think. Ricky Holmes is a doubt for tomorrow just after coming back from injury. And long before the injury crisis an awful lot of fans were saying we had a good first team, but not a good squad, so the criticism is not just being wise after the event.
Hearing rumours that #cafc finance director David Joyes has resigned. From everybody's favourite, Rick Everitt.
The rumour mill should be going into overdrive after the bombshell of Meire's resignation announcement yesterday. Interesting that nobody seemed to have even a sniff that KM's departure was so close. Events could really accelerate now, and much of it may hit us with no prior warning...
Mr May did, as he was quick to point out to his gullible disciples. I'm due to catch up with a person who provides HR consultancy services to the club, over the weekend. This person doesn't generally spill the beans as they are extremely professional, but Now KM's going, they might have a few titbits.
Disaster! We've lost Dodoo http://www.newsshopper.co.uk/sport/...s_Charlton_boss_reveals_why_he_barely_played/
There is talk of a third takeover bid which is Kuwati backed. There is also an Australian and a British Consortium. The ex Directors debentures seems to be a problem. The Takeover is not close and could drag on into February.
There is talk on CL about Reg being involved in one of the bids but surely this will depend on his future role at Ebbsfleet ?....... I always had a feeling that Ebbsfleet was a training ground for his consortium to move onto something bigger. There was also talk of Paul Elliott CBE being involved in one of the consortia but a personal friend of his (on here) has assured us that there are no legs to this rumour.
A pity if the takeover drags into February, as it almost certainly shoots down our fading promotion hopes. But as far as I'm concerned a few more weeks of speculation is a small additional price to pay, now that the end of Duchatelet's regime is surely upon us. I never truly believed we could gain promotion this season anyway. Automatic was the only sensible route and that is well and truly beyond us now - has been for a month. For me, having new owners with a new approach and a chance to rebuild broken relationships is more important than getting back to the Championship this season - which was only ever a 3/1 shot at best, and is now little more than a pipe dream.
BBC Match of the Day pundit Trevor Sinclair found guilty of racism today - threatening and racist comments towards a white police office. Were it a white BBC pundit behaving this way to a black police officer, I think we all know the BBC's reaction. So.....
Sinclair already had the hump because a woman in a restaurant earlier that evening had patted him on the head and called him a "little chocolate man".
The BBC have announced that they won’t use Sinclair again as a pundit. A rare case of where the politically correct race relations industry has cost one of its own.
More Takeover news from Angeldust. And so this rumbles on. The situation as I understand it. Negotiations continue but the pace seems to have stalled somewhat for the Australian contingent. They have been chipping away for some time but question marks still remain regarding their ability to fully fund the acquisition. The passing of time has also given them the opportunity to mull over the kind of situation they would inherit, and I guess if funds are tight this may have created an ebb in interest somewhat. I am also lead to believe that they are becoming increasingly frustrated with the owner’s ambition to start a bidding war. So unless something dramatic changes I think the chances of Australian ownership are less likely. There are apparently two other interested parties. The owner has had dealings with one of them before and they are trusted by him and his people. Whether that would be good for the club is largely unknown and I have no information if an offer has been made. The final interest is a bit of a mystery. Capital is no issue by all accounts. However, I am told they are not prepared to pay a penny more than the price they see fit. At the start of negotiations that chasm was vast. Recent reports in the media that the owner would be willing to decrease his demands may be a signal that this group are in the box seat?
Thanks for the info DP Really hope we get good owners, but sadly the last two takeovers haven't left me with much optimism.
I suspect that “AngelDust” is a WUM. He may be related to Ty Jiminez ? If you read his takeover posts, the two most common words are ‘possibly’ and ‘may’
