Poor El having to spend time in hospital, forver being moved nearer to the chapel. He must be worried that he he gets found out by his boss, as difficult to cover his ass whilst in hospital.

Not long ago Southampton were in League 1 with us going for back to back promotions, Grayson was refused cash in January so after being top of the league we finished 7th, that was the last time we looked like being able to cope. Southampton through decent ownership can now compete with large transfer fees we still have a long way to go to get back. So if they offer Pontus big wages he will go, its just the way it is.

Tommy has a target this season to get us into the play offs, and Radz will make sure he has the tools to do that, so expecting a replacement if Pontus goes. Radz plan is for promotion next season so by that time we will have a decent squad, if it happens this season so be it a bonus, so losing Pontus wont be just about the fee we get as Radz will get us a replacement equally as good

Could Aden Flint and Joe Bryan be set to replace Pontus I wonder. This would greatly weaken Bristol City

If Radz is seriously going to go for autos next season, then maybe taking one step backwards to move two forward isn't such a bad thing.
We finished 15 points clear of Wolves last season and they were mince. The parallel is that it was their owner's first season in charge as well and he promised investment to come which he truly delivered on with some quality players. If Pontus wants to go, then realistically we can't stop him, but £20-£25 million is half of what I feel would be required to do a 'wolves' next season. All hypothetical of course but the realist in me says that we are short by some way quality wise and a serious cash injection via a transfer such as Pontus may actually benefit us long term if Radz is true to his word.

I have just read we are looking at Jack Marriot and Marcus Madison of Peterboro I tried to see them against Bradflord but the site won't let me in so can some kind person put the highlights on here please Marriot scores 2 and is ably assisted by Madison You probably remember we agreed to buy Madison 2 years ago only for Cellino to renage

Yer cheeky git. The difference that year was that they went for Rickie Lamb and we went for his striking partner Billy Paynter

Ah yes the clubs with a plan for strikers Grant Holt at Norwich did the biz for them getting them promotion with Lambert doing the biz twice for Southampton. Oh how I wish we had a striker like those who can bully big defenders

You could be right Eire but I suspect the reason for the 4 year contracts is that the players join a project which guarantees them a long term future, but for that contrcat they buy into staying until it fails or comes to fruition. Leaving Leeds next season would probably make them worse off as not many clubs offer even a 2 year deal so could leave for maybe a higher basic but still not have the comfort of a long term contract they have at Leeds?

Pontus last season epitomised everything good about Leeds. Fight, determination and cult hero status. Downside is yellow cards and bans. This season he is just about back to where he was last season, but he missed games through suspension and was a powder puff compared to last term. Half season gone and only just back to his best. So if he goes for big money we need to replace with someone just as commited and good, but without the suspensions and lack of form.

Good Afternoon Mike and afternoon all...

Is Pontus the best CB in the Championship? Would Southampton want someone with PL experience? Here is a thought, sell Pontus for £18m and sign Bartley for how much?? I’m sure we’d have some change.

Sorry to hear your still in hospital Matt, try and enjoy the rest <ok>

I don’t think Southampton will make a move for Pontus, could be wrong though...

good afternoon Rik Bartley is still out injured so not much use I'm afraid 'Flint Bryan and Marriot from the money we would get for Pontus

fcuk me, £75m for van Dijk is just idiotic, Liverpool need to take a fcuking long hard look at themselves, the desperate morons ... and £25m for Mawson who is a "decent" Championship centre back at best is hilarious

these clubs wasting cash so readily is damaging football, and you have to wonder how long before we see some fcuking ballerina being signed for £300m and put on £1m a week ... this kind of disgusting excess makes you want to rethink following football at all

sponsors and tv are simply throwing money at thick footballers when it's better invested in job creation and growth ... the sooner this Premier League bubble pops the better

I'm afraid Billy that this is the way football is run now and I for one agree with you but its life and we have somehow to get in on the act'I managhed to see highlights of Posh against City and was impressed with Marriot I remember they have had quite a few strikers they have sold Washington Asambalonga so they know how to bring them on They want £10m for the pair Barry Fry always was a cheeky chappie suspect £5m will get both

Good points, but of we're turned down, a very public leak, rumours about ridiculously high wages we're offering, and the power of the media / social media might unsettle them sufficiently for them to either play crap for the rest of the season, or demand that they be allowed to speak to us (also unsettling them if it comes to nothing).

It's been done to us often enough, so why not?

The reality, though, is that any signings we make will come from abroad. That's the kind of economics that we have to live with.

According to ESPN Bartley did resume training with the first team around two weeks back so maybe he isn’t far off a return <ok>

I hate the January transfer window in the championship, if you're doing crap no one wants to join, going well and the premier league boys circle round our better players. We need promotion this year.
