No he was crap. It wasn't a shot, he tried to cross it to the back stick and ****ed it up. He should have drilled it into the far corner though. He's poor, never gets his head up, wants to beat a team on his own and therefore loses the ball, and is tactically unaware. I don't even think he's that quick. I hope he improves but I don't think it will happen.
Aarons got everything wrong, including some stupid chip when he should just be firing it at goal. He was like 12 yards out, ffs. Shelvey was not great in possession but worked harder and wanted the ball. More than can be said for many of them. especially Joselu.
I dunno. I think even the likes of Boumsong, Marcelino, Alnwick, Carr, Luque, Shola, Sammy, Butt, Gonzalez, Xisco (Rafa would have started him!!) Etc etc were better. The lad at least tries though, but he's stealing a living as a footballer.
He didn't even try tonight. I had literally no idea what he was doing, at all. When it got to his feet you could almost hear his brainfart. Won no headers. Otamendi actually looked bored. If only Rafa wasn't contractually obliged to wait til the 60th minute before making changes.
Sky and bt are ****ting themselves. Most of their top games involve the top 6 who teams will sit back against. Tie into the equation iptv...
I'm not sure people will walk away. Superhero movies make billions, yet they are generic tripe. The UK public lap up X Factor 'stars' year after year. A surprising number of people will watch whatever utter crap is served up. I rarely watch teams other than Newcastle play because I can't get interested in it. I haven't even bothered with MOTD much over the last 3 or 4 years.
There's clearly something nobody in the media is allowed to say. Typical of the rich stranglehold, the blame shifts to "every other team being boring". But they must all know that watching the World's richest team hammer the likes of Huddersfield is more boring than re-runs of Strictly. People will switch off. Look at the FA Cup. It's the world's best competition for one reason - Cupsets. The overwhelming majority want the underdog to win. The national league systems everywhere simply allow the bullies to thrive. They did not make it hard enough to spunk cash wherever you want. FFP is a pathetic mess.
Basically the premier league is now the FA Cup, and we're Wrexham. Mike Ashley is right to note competing against a country is impossible.
I think I'm right in saying nobody outside the top 6 has beaten a top 6 side so far. I can well imagine that's still the same at the end of the season. But some fcker needs to grow a pair on the telly and say something about it. Still, nothing going to change by Saturday, so that's a huge match - and if Joselu plays i'll fly my Xmas drone into Rafa's nuts.
The bellends on Sky are livid that Rafa didn't set the team up to get ripped apart by City for their entertainment. Get a grip.
The Premier League is the haves and the have nots. Kevin De Bruyne. Mo Diame. Raheem Sterling. Jacob Murphy. This simply has to be kept in mind before anyone slates the team for how they set up tonight.
I don’t think anyone is slating the team and also setup. It’s the lack of effort first 45 minutes. Are we THAT far behind that we can’t pass a ball. Can’t make a tackle. Can’t track a man. Can’t read the passage of play. Can’t get into position. Can’t bother trying!!!!!
Graeme Souness once said in an interview here in Ireland that he enjoyed doing punditry on Irish TV because you have freedom of speech to express your opinions on football, he explained that isn’t the case on Sky Sports, basically the Sky producers forbid the pundits from bad mouthing or making negative comments about the premier league.....and if you don’t behave you won’t be asked back! Just another example of the power of the almighty buck!
Just out of interest, does anyone know the difference in players buy price and salary between the two teams tonight?
Sweet jack ****e. But we knew that before the game and especially when we saw the line up. Rafa threw the game with Brighton in mind. I don't blame him.
