As with pretty much everything Jose says (which is very calculated and in no way meltdowns imho) he has a point.
City have taken spending to a whole new stratosphere - ironically I would say Utd started it with Pogba ( which now does not seem all that high) then city and PSG blew the whole thing.
If someone like Utd doesn’t keep up with city there are literally going to be a handful of clubs fighting for CL and domestic leagues are going to be processions very much how this years is turning out

 

But FFP.....it helps everyone.

You do know FFP wasn't brought in to stop clubs spending don't you, it was brought in to stop clubs going bankrupt through over-spending.
This is where most get it wrong, FFP was never meant to equalise clubs, it was meant to protect clubs from bad management.

You make a very good generalised point. However, manu are not currently in the position of being one of the under spenders. They are massive spenders that have made buys that didn't work out (same as most) but they still have an excellent squad whose biggest problem is that for whatever reason is not being managed to it's best potential.

I wonder why Maureen chose to focus on spending at this moment?
