Thats some reply. However, I never said your Faugheen will not win the Champion Hurdle, I merely wondered why you would think they would be laughing. If a winner doesnt come off the bridle it really does not matter if it wins by 3 lengths or 16 lengths...those are incidental numbers. I also question when you think TNO hit his prime. As a fan of the horse I would say he is as good today as he has ever been. He jumps better now than he ever has throughout his career and he still is a very smart performer. He was outclassed today by a horse given a really gentle winning rider. I seriously doubt that anyone in Closutton saw anything that they didnt expect and they surely were not laughing. Maybe they were. Just my opinion.
Its likely an opinion not many others hold stick if you think The New One is as good as he was 2/3 years, he's certainly not rated the same anyway. Not sure i agree about your analogy about winning distances on the bridle being all the same either, I'd rather see an easy 30l win than a 3l win. Anyway well see what the other fella does on Friday, I'm man enough to admit if I'm wrong as you know. Ill be disappointed by anything less than an easy 7l
His rating today according to the official handicapper is 163, in December 2015 the official handicapper had him at 162 (the day Faugheen beat him). The RPR have him today at 161, down from 165 in Nov whereas in Dec 15 they had him at 156, up from a previous 151. Maybe you have another set of numbers you can bring to the table.......................................
I must be wrong then o sir stick & I ain't going to wasted my boxing night over an irrelevant argument, go see Boris again, that's his thing not mine. Have a good one
How very condescending. I must remember not to debate a point again. I do apologise. Quite touching today that THE NEW ONE became a millionaire. Not bad for a horse maligned by many for not being a Champion.
Well done lads keep up the good work, it was getting a bit boring. I think if Faugheen turns up in March he wins on the snaff. I haven't been impressed by anything I've seen today apart from Harry Kane's hatrick.
Turns out Bristol De Mai wasnt the biggest doing on Boxing Day, Beefy on the canvas from a Stick uppercut.
