A piece of work for the Champ - don't expect anything more for Faugheen later this week ..................
Laughter coming from Closutton watching the Christmas Hurdle Faugheen murders that, assuming he arrives there fit and well of course. Injury only thing stops him.
Jacob wont get the choice, Ruby or Paul ride Munir's from Mullins yard. Excellent from Footpad that was.
Whisper held big hopes for me but was crap. The Hennessy probably just too big an effort. Might Bite showed exactly why I wanted to take him on but as Beefy says a win is a win. My wife backed Double Shuffle - I should stick to her tips
Might Bite shows why you wanted to take him on? Race was never in doubt at any stage and he didnt need to lead like you suggested. He doesnt do much in front as we all know but he was clearly a class above.
Hope you all had a great Christmas. I've been internet free for a few days........ We had a most interesting day yesterday. My brother had some of my mother's old cine films put onto DVD. Turns out some were of my grandmother (the paternal one) on a trip to Australia etc in the 1950's (bit of an eye opener to see Perth, Hobart and Sydney images of that era)
Weird Happy with the TTT place money, Thistlecrack poor though, he has lost his turn of foot, probably won't ever get it back now after that tendon injury. Great run from double shuffle, BDM proved he can only be at it's best on a particular ground, Whisper is just a glorified handicapper, Might Bite won and made hard work of it so fair play but looks nowhere near invincible. Looks like a Sizing John repeat as it stands
Just back from Huntingdon , the fare on offer was poor but that didn't stop Mrs Florida having a treble. But both the bumper winners looked smart especially duhallow gesture ridden by Richie Mclernon beating a pretty smart field and the winner in the last the big bite winning just as easily after a 295 day layoff.anyway a couple for the notebook . Cheers.
Why would they be laughing. Buveur Dair has beaten a very useful horse today without being asked a single question. It was a training spin for the horse and little more.
Good old George does it again! Can’t believe he’s 13 in January- still acts like juvenile on the gallops!
Faugheen beat the same horse in this race, then in his prime, much easier than BVD did today. I was expecting him to put daylight between him and that lot today, the fact he didn't should be a concern for his fans. Faugheen on his first run for nearly 3 years beat Jezki 16l on the bridle, Jezki, a horse whose always beaten TNO. BVD won an atrocious Champion, the last three horses to finish second to him are the Tent, Irving & TNO. Faugheen would obliterate any of those. BVD when he met a decent hurdle field was well beaten behind Altior and Min. Faugheen on his best day has put in performances only bettered by Istabraq this century, that's the official handicappers opinion, not mine! If they both meet on the day BVD would need to put in a stone better performance than what he has to get anywhere close. Faugheen will be a certainty on the day. Just my tuppence worth, stickler, we've all opinions, plenty different to mine but I'm as entitled to mine as you are to yours and I've provided evidence above to support why mine opinion is so strong. I was quoted on here as saying Faugheen would be an absolute certainty on the day in 2015, plenty opposed me throughout and i don't use those words lightly, but if he lines up on the day he's an absolute certainty again!
