Ayew is utter rubbish. There's a reason he was at Villa. Hopefully another piss poor player that gets sold in January.
But we only have piss poor players. This display proves that Clement was not all to blame. We just don't have the team to compete at this level.
This was a must win game, but with absolutely no threat in front of goal, it now looks like mission impossible.
All the stats are a big improvement under Leon, except for shots on target, and chances created, possession was 64%, pass accuracy over 80%, at least we have made some progress be it small, and we did not lose which is amazing given the squad we now have. In January we need a quality RB, creative offensive midfielder, and a quality striker.............
Just got back. A much improved performance - easily the most attacking intent from us all season. Just emphasises how negative we were under PC. We need a new Manager ASAP - someone who can bring in 4 or 5 players just like Laudrup did (Michu, Chico, JDG & Pablo) That might - just might - save us.
Well done Leon and well done the players especially AYEW with a spectacular goal.......With the circumstances as they are and the short time leon and the players had then it was a good performance and with the players out injured and those not selected then the new manager whoever it is can be encouraged with what he has to work with....A good draw against Roys form team and it took another penalty to stop us beating them....
Fabianski - great save in the first half and far more vocal Naughton - seems to have found some form but wasn't really challenged. Fed - silly penalty but rock solid. Mawson - solid. Olsson - a bit more like last season, made a difference today. Carroll - did nothing of me. Clucas - another 'out of his depth' performance. Mesa - brilliant. A real boss in the middle, first time passes kept play moving quickly and he battled. Narsignh - ducked out of every 70 - 30 (in his favour) challenge. Routledge on the right please. Abraham - work hard, some lowly moves but quite blunt as a striker. Dyer - another who made a big difference, always working hard, kept the defence busy and defended too. Ayew - a few errors to begin with but turned the game. Fulton - did more in 5 minutes than Clucas managed in 95. An enjoyable game full of intent, a lot of good pass and move and apart from attempts on goal was much better. A draw that gave great encouragement
It was only a small number in the part of the ground known as idiot's corner by a lot of us. I have never understood the greedy bastards mindset anyway. Jenkins & Co rescued the club when it almost went out of existence and are entitled to the money they received for their shares. Jenkins in the programme today said, and not for the first time, those directors did not have the financial resources to take the club forward and we needed new owners with the financial resources to do so. Whether this proves to be the case only time will tell. My issue is with Jenkins role as DOF. Someone has to take responsibility for errors in managerial appointments and transfer dealings. However the transfer side of it is understandable when he says we had to sell Jonjo just to get us through the season.
Jenkins and co sold to the yanks not for the benefit of the Club but for their own bank balances Why anyone still thinks otherwise is deluded .The Chinese wanted to invest in the Club which meant not buying Jenkins & cos shares , that's not what they wanted hence they were dismissed They couldn't care less who they sold their shares to just as long as they were bought and regardless of the consequences to the Club and now we're seeing the full affect of their actions.
Yep , much needed money into the area would have meant a lot to an already deprived area , probably more than those tossers in the assembly currently dish out
Jenkins never rescued the club, he was not part of it when the club was in dire straits and it was Mel Charles who persuaded a bankrupt businessman to join......I know i was part of the team trying to recruit trust members to join and put money into the clubs coffers. Jenkins became the chairman without putting a penny into the club. I got to know him well but his football chairmanship knowledge was zero but he was keen and he learned as we went along. he may not be as popular ,now but he was useful to have onboard as he knew the business world and gave good advice, He is a good man deep down and was and still is a prudent man and although we called him a skinflint we ignored the fact he had no choice and he bought some great cheap players and got some cracking loan players at the time like Leon and Tate who eventually rejoined permanently. Today he is still prudent where he has made a lot of mistakes like letting contracts run down and not dealing in the market early and leaving things until the last minute when we ended up in some cases paying well over the odds for players who did not fit in.....Jenkins is Swansea through and through that i cannot deny but he never saved the club at the beginning he was not here.....he was part of the solution ......Mel and his group saved the club.....
Nobody invests without getting something for their money. So what did they want out of their investment. My own thought at the time was that I was uneasy about the Americans because of past American dealing with clubs and would have preferred the Chinese. On Dai's point I've only got my information, as I suspect most supporters have, through the media which is why I thought that Jenkiins, Morgan etc. were responsible for the rescue.
I sit north side of half way in the East and it was across the back of the stand and into the North East section as well. I can't understand how the Liberty allowed people, just outside the Liberty, to hand out leaflets calling for Jenkins to go.
