Someone said he has a back injury and can't take training. Ooops...just read statement confirming that.
Les Reed, Vice Chairman (Football), said: "Eric Black is a fine coach and a true professional who is popular with the players and staff and always gave 100 per cent to his job. Fortunately, his situation is not serious and we hope he will be back in a tracksuit at some point in the future. "Everyone at Southampton wishes him a speedy recovery. I would also personally like to thank him for his diligent work during his time with the club.”
That'll please Saintsweb. Apparently without him we'll be in a Champion's League spot in a few weeks. Vin
Yeah, the back injury that was discussed on here a few days ago. Not sure too many will be sad to see him go.
I have never got this hatred of Black....apparently to some fans our bad form is solely down to him....not the manager, other coaches, or players. It's like an obsession.
Best wishes to him. Hopped over to get the Saintsweb view, a post starts: "I have no evidence to confirm this of course, but..." Which is probably the most accurate thing ever written.
Quick read of Saintsweb it seems quite a few are hoping Reed is next. Apparently there was some meeting with Gao recently? I haven't seen anything about that except over there so could well be bullshit
Have you seen the thread that declares relegation an almost certainty and saying that we should probably keep Gabbi for the Championship We need a Saintsweb thread to link all the craziness.
Good luck black albatross, you'll need it. Unless you find work in a school teaching french, then I'd expect you to excel!
Mmm forgive my cynicism here, but if it is due to a bad back and he can’t take training, shouldn’t the club be supporting him/putting him on sick leave? Something doesn’t quite ring true for me.
