Arsenal packed Ryo Miyaichi off to Feyonard on loan last season. I have actually seen him live and he is a very classy winger. I would love to get him on some sort of loan deal. I see he is in the 23 man squad for their Champs League but I wonder if we could get him on a 3 to 6 month stint. He is the type of player we really need!! I wonder if Conor Wickham or Gael Kakuta would be available as well. Would love to get one of these three into our midfield. I hope we use the loan market sparingly this season, but 2 high impact players would be a blessing! Any players you guys would like to see?
I thought Wickham was an out and out striker and not an answer to out midfield dilemma. No doubt the decisions made about our midfield set up over the next few weeks are going to be vital. Our defence is essentially slow and need some agressive protection in front of them, whilst our front men need the service that only players like Whitts can provide. Tough one for Malky to sort out, but if Poyet can do it and get the results like they did at the CCS, the next batch of "imports" will be vital.
Can't see Arsenal letting anyone go with how thread bare their squad is. Our midfield will obviously benefit from Gunnar and Kiss coming back, I'm just praying we manage to get some pace (with ability) in on the wings. If Sunderland had any interest in loaning Wickham I think he would have been left at Ipswich for the season. He might be available in Jan if things don't work out, but i can't see it before that. He played on the left for Ipswich a fair bit, but I believe is very much considered a front man. I don't know the fringe players at Man City, Utd, Chelsea or Liverpool well enough but you would think with the additions to those squads this summer there must be quality available. Haven't seen enough of Kakuta to know if he's someone who'd help tbh.
wickham and kakuta cloud cuckoo land i'm afraid. in the real world hit and miss players of the quality of emmanuel thomas, drinkwater and so on. MM did well bringing in cleverley to watford a while back, hopefully he can find someone of that ilk.
Kakuta failed on loan at Fulham in the second half of last season. On that showing I can't see Prem clubs queuing up for him. I think from Chelsea's point of view they'd rather see him get 30 + games somewhere than sit on another Prem bench.
Kuyt and Gerrard (If fit) from L'pool, Rambo Peter Chzech and Bellars. I'll have to think about the last one, I cant think of a good back off the top of my head they are all sus at times except maybe John Terry, unless you introduce your woman too him of course.
I think Henri Lansbury is a very good shout...a pacey centre back and winger from somewhere could do the trick as well. I like the look of Bristol City's Jamal Campbell-Ryce, could we make a bid for him?
I still think Livermore and Townsend from Spurs. I know Livermore played v. Man U last night but once their injured are back and Diarra and Adebayor are in, neither will be in their top 25.
Apparently Lansbury hasn't travelled to Italy so the press (F365) are reading that as he's on his way out. Totally unrelated to us but will Arsenal have any players left ?!? Agreed on Townsend, would certainly fit our requirements.
Well, it may be a stretch. But Prem clubs will now want their players to get as many games as they can and MM may have some reputation for bringing on young players.
Off the wall thought, what about Tamir Cohen, the Israeli international CM, currently out of contract at Bolton, Champions League experience at Maccabi Tel Aviv, and experience in Serie A with Juve, never got his career off the ground at Bolton mainly because of injury, but he is apparently fit now, and is still only 27, he is available on a free, and would not demand a high salary, might be worth a look as a trialist on a pay as you play deal, because a few seasons ago this guy was the "New Frank Lampard"................as I said off the wall, but why not give him a run out?
Cohen would be a brilliant signing, he's featured in the Bolton side regularly over recent years, at 27 he still has a few years yet in him, and arguably should be hitting his peak as a player with the experience he now has in the game. As a freebie, one good season would see him with a £1m+ price tag and for that reason alone, even to see him shipped off the following season, would surely contribute to paying for the players wages and time spent with City. Alterantively, if he proved to be a midfield maestro, and commanding centre-mid, of which he possesses the ability to do, I think there is a possible win win situation on the cards. If they could shorten wages, and offer him first team football, a 3 year contract would see the club in good control of the player, and leave us with options on his future. Wages are what this would come down to. Although, i would cast an assumption that Bolton like to keep a toght wage structure, and that the signing of Cohen (providing a willingness to play championship football) could prove a shrewd piece of business for the club. So why not? It's a position of which i feel we need strength in depth. Cohen has great defensive capabilities, and could be the type of player we need to mop up balls that the occasionally shakey Hudson needs help with in that area of the field..
