Hull's Museum of Club Culture(10 Humber St) is celebrating it's first anniversary, has anyone been? I'd never heard of it until a mate of mine told me I should for a look round and I was in for a surprise, presumably because I'm in some of the photo's, there's some images here if you want to try and find yourself: http://www.flickr.com/photos/museumofclubculture/
I think it might have been more accurate to call it the Museum of Youth Culture. Those gig tickets have reminded me of some bands I'd completely forgotten about.
I went in not long after it was opened, but seen as I was only born in 1988 I don't think it was aimed at people of my age and younger really. Can't say I was that impressed tbh, a few pictures up and a bit of not great art. Although from looking at flicker it may have expanded a bit since I went. It seemed to be for people who had nostalgia of the late 70's and 80's of which i had none. Hull doesn't really have any club culture anymore in the same way it did back then id guess, its a bit generic now.
I visited on Sunday, only a small place, but I enjoyed it, brought back some good memories, if you was into the local club/music scene then well worth a look. Also the guy who runs it was telling me he is after some new material for a relaunch in October and is after any flyers/gig tickets/ photos etc.
