Oh yeah I forgot you can't say anything negative about any of our players on here. I thought Love was poor both in attack and defence and I wasn't the only one. Doesn't mean the game was all about him but there it is.
When the **** did anyone say that pal? We say negative things about players on here all the time, because there’s plenty of it. Pretty sure I said ‘I prefer to enjoy the win’, you can say what you like squire, you crack on.
It's obvious what the implication of 'I prefer to enjoy the win and not pick apart players' performances' is.
This system gives us so many options when a manager is getting it right. To think we still had McGeady and Mcmanaman on the bench and Oviedo and McNair out injured who'd both be in the first 11 if fit. Asoro and Maja have proved they can make an impact from the bench which is huge. Ruiter is beginning to look assured which is a massive bonus. A centre back and Striker in January and we'll be more than fine I feel
I didn’t say oh couldn’t though did I? Like I said I prefer to enjoy the positive, each to their own.
So do I, I'm not some miserable bugger who only sees the bad things. I also don't feel the need to pretend everything was perfect just because we won.
Matthews was great going forward, but offered little resistance as Fredericks blew past him (at least 3 times) to deliver dangerous crosses to the front of our goal. Understandable though - apparently Fredericks had to chose between a career as a footballer or a sprinter. Gooch had his pocket picked three times in the middle of the park, and once more further up the pitch in attack. Pretty sure all of them launched counter attacks.
Love is very poor, similar to the Everton loanee on the other side, both need to improve quickly to get anywhere near Championship standard imo. in the mean time the sooner Oviedo is back the better.
Gooch's energy was good and he made some dangerous runs into the box but his passing and shooting weren't great. I think most were overhit so maybe a bit too much adrenaline due to wanting to impress. I like him, think he'll be a useful player for us. Apart from anything else he's a fighter and works his backside off.
The team looks balanced with this mid-field and a few more games together can only help improve the team, it was not long ago that doubts about Honeyman were expressed but both Honeyman and Gooch are players who will improve with games, these players have had to come in under difficult circumstances but both have shown they can handle it, and will be very useful to us this season.
Nice idea. He's barely put a foot wrong and keeps on improving, definitely one to keep and that deal would make sense.
Wonder what Coleman could with Khazri. Maybe he could get the lad playing. Understand he’s doing pretty good in France
Well considering Love made only his first consecutive start since January last year I'll be giving him time and I won't be putting him in the same bracket as Galloway who opened the season as first team regular and was one of the worst fullbacks I've ever seen pull on a Sunderland shirt. For Love, getting back to match fitness is one thing but without a run of match time it's difficult to settle into the role on a competitive match level after long stints out. Which is why he needs minutes and why i've got empthy of his weak performances as he tries to improve. Young lad off the back of a bad injury after all.
He will have to stay in France or come back to us. I dont think he is allowed to play for a 3rd club in the same season.
For what it’s worth I actually think Love has a bit about him. Think he looks like a ‘footballer’ which Billy Jones has been pretending to do for years and I still getting away with it.
He does look more useful than Jones yeah although I haven't seen enough of him yet. Just for the record I'm not writing him off by any means, just saying that he had one poor game which, from where I was sitting, he did.
