Moral for those who go to games don't leave early with eight minutes left the home side took a thoroughly undeserved 2-1a sign for quite a few of Fleetwood folk to start drifting away home, although in the lead at this late stage they didn't take a point thanks to two late Posh goals, victory however was nearly snatched from the visitors when Cole headed against the bar deep into injury time.
In the main this was a pretty average match between one side who tended to overplay(Posh) and the other who were apart from brief periods in the game crap.
Posh dominated the early stages didn't score coming close when lively early substitute Lloyd fired narrowly wide from some utterly inept Fleetwood defending. The visitors played neat football but lacked a big man up front to feed off Maddison's inch perfect crosses. Cole for Fleetwood caused danged with United's defence backing off every time he rans at them, from one such run the home side took the lead. The son of Andy advanced on goal but was stopped the ball ran to Bell and he rang it to put the home side one up against the run of play. Lloyd had another effort and Maddison tried his luck from 50 yards, but the should have been level at half time when Tafazolli should have scored instead he cleared the ball for Fleetwood from virtually under the home sides bar.
Maddison early effort from 70 yards went miles wide as the visitors again looked more dangerous and after 55 minutes they were level, ball over the top Fleetwood defenders statuesque Doughty nipped in to fire home.
Posh went for the kill, big claims for a penalty when Lloyd went down in the box, Maddison effort from 40 yards hit the top pof the bar. Finally Fleetwood woke up Taylor denied a goal bound effort from the resulting corner, Pond header cleared from the line, Bolger buried the rebound. Could have been 3-1 when Glendon's free kick hit the bar. Then the late turn around, both goals similar, Maddison free kick the first Marriott reacted quicker scored, then a free kick which Maddison bounced just in front of Cairns, couldn't gather the ball Lloyd bagged the winner. Cole hit the bar late on but Fleetwood deserved what they got nothing.
Odd watching football at Fleetwood absolutely convinced a quite sizeable proportion do not watch the game and spend endless time walking to and from the bar behind the goal. They also have a drummer with a lad standing on a barrier to try and whipped up atmosphere with his back to the game, strange folk the Cod.
