Thats what alot of pundits are saying and I agree. The defence still needs work but ive never seen a team as strong as them this season ever in England. Whats everybody elses opinion??
Football didn't begin with the Premier League but if you are sticking to that then yes probably. Liverpool, late 70's, early 80's were fantastic. Absolutely sublime one touch passing.
What about the Arsenal team that went the whole season unbeaten, Venger is still riding on the coat tails of that team. Let's see if City can do the same.
That team was amazing. City have just beat their record of most consecutive wins hence the debate about which is the best team.
Bit early to say that IMO as yet but they’re certainly going to go close. The unbeaten Arsenal team are probably the best I’ve seen in my lifetime.
You're so ****ing old you probably can remember our heady heights of the 1880's. I bet you've even met Ned Kelly.
I think United at their peak under Ferguson would beat this City team, they'd get at them and wouldn't sit back. I'm reluctant to heap too much praise on City because it's pretty football but I'm not sure yet if they've got the balls for winning everything year after year.
Imagine how good theyd be if their 50m summer signing left back never got injured. Aka Mendy who we nearly signed for about 5m 5 years ago and actually flew over for talks .
I would have said that if I was going to say it ! as Stan laurel would have said. The workmanship entirety and sublime passing of City leads me to substantiate a theological theory they are the best side in the top flight since Liverpool of 1979, may I also add the days when you could tackle and 6 inches of snow/waterlogged pitches also.
I recall watching Emlyn Hughes on a TV being asked how his Liverpool side would fare against the best in the Prem. 'We'd skin them for the first eighty minutes then their higher fitness would take over and we would be steamrollered'. I'm sure he was right and it's why it's so hard to compare. Like others on here, I'll wait til the end of the Season to compare but they are looking the part.
Tough one to call, but with todays fitness and the fact that football is pretty much a non contact sport, yes City are head and shoulders above anything I've seen in the Premier.
