    Barclays Premier League
    Date - Wednesday 13 December 2017
    Kick off - 19:45
    Venue - Liberty Stadium

Following their hard fought, but deserved victory over Alan Pardew's West Brom, next up for Paul Clement's team is the visit of Champions-Elect Man City to The Liberty.

The day after the Swans beat WBA, Pep Guardiola's team won the Manchester derby 2-1 at Old Trafford, thanks to a second half winner from Otamendi. The victory took City 11 points clear of second placed United and was their 15th win in 16 PL matches, drawing the other.

In fact, it was City's 14 straight PL victory - a record. That is the size of the task facing the Swans on Wednesday evening.

Including the first fixture in October 1926, Swans have played City on 33 occasions, winning 7, drawing 4 and losing 22.

In the corresponding fixture last season, City ran out 3-1 winners and maintained their perfect start to the season under Pep Guardiola.

Sergio Aguero fired the visitors in front before Fernando Llorente scored his first Swans goal with an emphatic half-volley four minutes later.

Aguero netted his second goal with a penalty after Mike van der Hoorn was harshly adjudged to have elbowed Kevin de Bruyne.

Raheem Sterling added a classy third after a quick counter-attack.

Turning to Wednesday night, it is difficult, if not impossible to look beyond a comfortable win for Man City. It will be interesting to see if Clement reverts to playing 3 Centre Backs and adopt a rope-a-dope strategy of catching them on the break. City will surely lose at some point in the PL this season - it would be great if it happened on Wednesday, but I can't quite see it. 0-3 to City and a record extending 15th consecutive PL win.

Better teams than us have been and will be beaten by Citeh this season so no disgrace there , as long as we give a good account of ourselves and give Mesa more playing time then that's probably the best we can hope for.

Man City i think will play a much weakened team to face us.....They are the best team by far in the premiership and can field what they like so our best option is to park the bus and hope for a breakaway goal by Abraham or Bony.....Man city should win but i hope not with ease.....

Title has just been wrapped up after City outclassing Utd. Hopefully they'll rest a couple of players for the Spurs game. This City side will be better than tye Barca side that Pep was in charge of once he gets a few top clas CBs.

Could be 3 or 4 or 5 nil. As long as we give 100% effort.

All depends on Clem's game plan that we know he is useless at....Hope and a prayer that Man City have a very bad game and we have our best of the season and we squeeze out a draw or an unlikely win....

Thierry Henry showed how Man City were trapping Man U in the final third and they dominated the first half. We haven't got any pace in the squad so I can see Man City trapping us and having 75% possession.

I would say the best we can hope for is a fantastic rearguard action and a 0-0. If I had to put a bet on it would read Swans 0 Man City 3.

On the plus side - we gained points on 3 of the top 4 this weekend. All is not lost

Well after watching them against Man Utd, their players fall over at the slightest touch - sending off is a possibility.
Mourinho was correct about City and their tactical fouling though - it's blatant !! The first reaction to losing the ball seemed to be to foul the opponent to prevent them attacking.

Anthony Taylor is the referee .... He who gave a penalty against us when Sam Vokes handled......

Wonder what mistakes he will make in Citeh's favour?

I'm afraid Citeh won't need the refs' help

He’s got to revert to three centre backs otherwise we’ll get a hammering. Play it tight and hope for a breakaway goal. I don”t normally like us playing so defensively at home but this City side are exceptional this season with 14 straight wins and will be cock-a-hoop after ending Man U’s 41 match unbeaten home record yesterday. It could be a damage limitation excercise only for us.
City players dive at the slightest contact so be prepared for lots of free kicks to be gifted to them by the weak & biased Mancunian ref Anthony Taylor.

Hi Matt, I agree - but that won't stop him from giving them a helping 'hand'

The life size cardboard cutout of Pulis at the training ground is serving its purpose so far. Keep the fear, grind the points......

I just hope we make them work hard for whatever City get out if it. It would be wonderful if their winning run came to an end but I think 1-3

Wasn't he the ref as well who gave Rashford a penalty against us when everybody else thought the cheat had dived.
