Match Day Thread Our beloved Saints -v- The Arsenal - Sunday 10th December, 2017 @ 12pm

I know you said you thought he had a good game, but Redders movement off the ball was horrid today. He did try and run defenders a couple of times with the ball, which was an improvement, but he was still really hesitant - it’s like he has to stop and think about how to play football. I wish he’d just trust himself a bit more.

 

Still need to elect a scapegoat of the match.

 

Did I say he had a good game? He’s the one who I thought wasn’t really on it but didn’t want to single him out.

I did point out a good direct run of his in the first half, but that was about it.

 

Oh, apologies, I thought you’d said he had. As you were!

 

Can I just give massive kudos to PEH for a brilliant tackle on Lacazette after an (equally brilliant) Arsenal break from our corner in the first half.

 

Wonder if Ayoze Perez was watching that.

Credit to MP2 tactically today as well. There were a couple of personnel tweaks perhaps that could have happened quicker, but despite all our cries of ??? when the teamsheet came out, that was pretty much spot on.

GAAAAH. What a great game, so gutted to lose. As a team we are transformed, relaxed and composed is how I would describe our play. A real pleasure to see. Once again we were millimeters and seconds away from extra points, this will be the story of our season I think but that's a point against a top 6 side. I thought PEH and JWP were both excellent today, Bertand had a blinder and I cannot believe he put that shot wide. Manager set out a good side, very pleased to see Yoshi, JWP and PEH getting a run out. I single out Forster and Redmond, one for turning his season around and the other for ....not.

 

Testament to how well we played the amount of people who have wrote we lost.

 

We didn't lose the game, we did lose points though.

He was outstanding. His tracking back from Sanchez's break on our corner pretty much saved the game. That would have been a goal IMO.
