Punchestown 2.05 I have a sneaky feeling that the ultra consistent Sub Lieutenant (best at 20f) with 2 runs behind him over 3 miles to get him fit, might just be too quick for the big 2 here, who both haven't had a run this season, both prefer 3 miles + these days and both probably being aimed at the Gold Cup. The betting suggests it's a 2 horse race but SL is only 6lbs behind the fav on Timeform ratings and with fitness and distance in his favour, surely 11/1 is way too big a price
Agreed Ron, however they've all got to avoid this big dollop of snow that's forecast this morning. Cork looks like it may miss the snow but instead will get significant rain. I shall study the Cork card later for horses that get 4 miles and like a quagmire.
What a warrior HIGHLAND REEL was! Was pretty much unbeatable on fast ground. Grand horse. Unfortunately he won’t be remembered as a great or even up in the ratings with the very best! But his performances were right up there with the very best hope he has a great retirement!!
There didn't seem to be any conclusion before ITV went off air, but Sir Valentino sadly, didn't make it. RIP old lad https://www.racingpost.com/news/geo...ir-valentino-dies-in-tingle-creek-fall/311697
The great news about Highland Reel then the sad news about Sir Valentino. Re Highland Reel, what a great way to finish his fantastic career. He is a true ambassador and deserves a long and happy retirement
Yep, that was horrible to see and it was right in front of us. Don't like to see things like this but it is part of the game and happens. Rip Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
Proper performance from Sizing John. It will take a very good horse to lower his colours this season.
I'm seldom critical of Barry Geraghty but he really ought to have pulled Ballyoisin up after the 3rd last there. Hope the horse is OK. Monstrous from Un De Sceaux
Yep - not like JP needs the 3rd place money and he wouldn't have any e/w punters to worry about either.
Man City are complete no hopers in the Champions League market, defence is nowhere near good enough. 6/1 Real Madrid is a great bet, PSG are the only danger and an injury to Cavani or Neymar would put an end to their chances.
My son is a big Man U supporter and I had to suffer that. Unfortunately, Man C were the much better passing side, technically better and more movement off the ball to create the spaces. Could have been more but how Man U didb=n't equalise near the end I don't know. Then again, at the death, it should have been 3-1 - especially as that was my forecast
