Used to work for a large company that supplied Marks and Spencer. What a set of twats to deal with.

I know of some small local businesses that went under because of them. They approached my dad who had a bakery. He wasn't going along with all their restrictions and conditions and outlay, which including paying for the tins you were going to use and which were no use if they cancelled the order. Which happened to another baker who decided to tie up with them within a couple of years messing up his business.

It’s a DoubleTree, we’re talking one step up from a Travelodge here.

    Let’s not overdo it.

Formula 1 engineer Paddy Lowe started out working in a canning factory (might have been Heinz, can't remember what he said. Might also have been plastic???), developing the optimum thickness of the packaging.

Funnily enough we had a guy from a canning plant another week talking about the incredibly fine tolerances on the thickness of a fizzy drinks can and the cost of maintaining the presses that make them. How they’re actually conical and pressed out of sheet, which kind of makes sense, but I’d never have realised without being told.

Four large retail units have just been completed inside Paragon, I'm not entirely sure who these units will be aimed at...

That makes sense, I just wonder how many other viable options there are for a large unit in there.

I don't know what's already in Paragon but I always felt a station should have at least a newsagent, a coffee shop, a sandwich shop and a florist.

Some toilets that are open late at night would be a useful thing to have there.

I think we should try and be bold, not popular I admit but something actually useful, despite what we all may think. How's about a funeral directors office, pop in for a coffin, no not a joke but, well I don't know what, then a Citizens Advice Bureau, an internet cafe, and a place to book a hotel in Hull for the night, I know these things can be done online but hey I'm trying here.

They built new toilets at the same time as building these shops, though I've no idea if they're open late at night.

    I think there's already a WH Smiths, a Journey's Friend, a Greggs and a Subway.
