Lunar Flow @7/1 in the 3.15 at Exeter. First time tackling a marathon trip but in good form - the last horse to beat the good doctor's Audacious Plan who has notched up 3 wins since coming second to this one. Being backed so missed a bit of value but still worth a win bet. Good luck all.
The Grade 2 Winter Novices Hurdle at Sandown today looks an absolute Corker with a capital "C". I'm surprised to see Mr. Henderson's On The Blind Side so short for this, having to concede weight to some very smart looking prospects. Should be a cracking race.
Tangramm 7 45 Chelmsford 16/1,Charlie Bishop booked, healthy strike rate for in form ivory Yard, cracking ew bet
What are our views on Blaklion tomorrow?!? I find the entry both fascinating and strange as do they really want to win £81,000 but in doing so seriously undermine the horses chances in the ‘Grand National’ itself – because even if he wins by a narrow margin they will get hit by at least a 5-7 lbs rise. Win in effortless fashion and it will be a far, far, far steeper rise. Ran a corker in last terms GN (may have ran even better if ‘Touchy’ Fehily hadn’t gone for home very, very early) off 152 and is now on 153. That mark to me looks ideal unless they want it reduced even further with a ‘quiet’ run of the morrow (nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more…) Personally I’m clueless as to whether connections are out to win tomorrow or just give him a ‘quiet’ sighter of Aintree.
Why would thet need to give him a sighter Barney? There are very few races Blacklion could win this season - this is one of them and it is worth 81 grand. At the end of the day he couldn't win the National last year and will have more weight this year so this could well be his best chance. Anyway, I think it could all be academic because I can't see Aintree being on tomorrow.
Yep, fair point re the weather. At the moment though Blaklion's perch is only 1 lb above what it was when he ran in last terms GN and if he ‘disappoints’ tomorrow it is likely to be a couple of pound lower than when he ran in the ’17 GN. Personally I’d be highly tempted to put him away until after the weights for the ’18 GN were announced – I think 153 is highly exploitable. £81k is unquestionably a lot of money but I think should he win tomorrow then he would seriously jeopardise his chance of winning £561k next April. Very risky admittedly putting all your eggs in one basket, so to speak, but win tomorrow and he will make his chances of following up much more difficult.
Agreed best race of the day. Henderson, Tizzard, Nicholls and Hobbs represented but I'd like to see Red River build on the promise of his debut and have taken a little bit of the 7s.
Added ol boy Pete the Feat to Lunar Flow and Red River for a little ew patent too. Early finish today due to threat of snow. Who am I to argue.
Cracking race; Springtown Lake should be up there, was flying when fell unluckily at the last fence last time out, Johnson on board again, so that's where I'm going.
Interesting to see FINIANS OSCAR entered tomorrow at Sandown in the Henry VIII surely they ar running him over 2m due to the soft ground because it surely too short to him especially on spring ground come march! I have backed him 9/2 to win any race at the festival which imo is outstanding value! As he is a top quality horse

Shout of the term, Chan, with Pete The Feat. Amazing to think the old boy will be 14 in just over 3 weeks!
I just looked at the cards and was about to post something similar Oddy. Does look a cracker doesn't it. Wouldn't surprise me if Springtown Lake (13/2) were to win but I think the one with the best future could be White Moon (3/1). Like you, can't understand why On The Blind Side is as short as 13/8. Couldn't be backing that at those odds. Now waits for egg on face
Used to be trained by my old boss Anna Newton Smith was a fantastic gentle boy! Rode him a few times!!
