It's 50/50 on a getting a heavy weight in either pot TBH.

 

At this point i will be happy if we get through
That said if we go into europa we could at least go for trophy

Coming second would be better ONLY if we got Roma or besiktas. Coming first, good draws would be Basel, Leipzig/Porto and Shakhtar.

But the advantage (if any) is that the first always get their second leg at home which could be an advantage.

 

With Man City, Chelsea and Spurs having already qualified for the next round, Man Utd joining them puts a bit more pressure on us. We don't want to be the only English side to fail to progress!

 

Do we ever do that, yes we get big wins but at the min mark can usually go either way

I said this last week that coming 2nd wouldn’t be huge disadvantage in terms of teams you could face with a lot of the big teams coming second in their group.

Only big difference is the home/away order but way we play, keep a clean sheet at home in first leg and I’d fancy us to score a few away goals on counter in 2nd.

Lets just get thfough tomorrow and then worry about who we can cant draw.

 

Was tongue in cheek. Bar Sevilla he’s been pretty solid this season. None of the defence have been brilliant, all had their faults but I’m past rating them all now. Seems we could have maldini, cannavaro nesta and Thuram at the back and still be shaky as ****!

I don't believe there's a team out there that we can't beat, so I'm not too worried about who we draw in that respect. Its a dangerous game to start saying you'd like to draw X or Y team, as we saw in 2006 nobody expected Benfica to knock us out but they did.

The second leg thing is the important one, though if it goes to extra time the away team gets 30 extra minutes to score an away goal.

 

To be fair they are quite old, I think they'd struggle with the pace of today's game

 

Prob still be better than our current lot though
