I am over 60 and detest what the Allams have done to the club and the people of Hull. They have done nothing to encourage support or increase attendance from the 'younger' generations because despite their protestations they have not got a clue how to run a football club. They are killing or have already killed the life blood of the club.
I think other clubs do have this problem actually. I think football is eating itself and become too bloated in general. Loads of clubs can’t get people in the grounds and the prices we see nowadays in the PL and Championship it’s perfectly understandable. The much maligned ‘millenials’ have it hard these days. Hull of course has always been a low wage area. Tough to justify the cost of away games if you pay rent or student debt or both and you’re underpaid generally. Many pensioners do very well and might even be mortgage free. Obviously none of this is absolute across the board but I think most people in general in 2017 are well aware of these growing disparities. Kids with wealthy mams and dads might still be alright though.
City support ebbs and flows. Always has done. Against Donny early this season posters were ****ing over our great loyal support. Last satdee summat better to do.
It's definitely ebbing at the moment. 1,000-odd was very poor on Saturday, particularly when we took 2-2,500 to Barnsley and the Blunts (I know it's coming up to Christmas, but it doesn't normally affect things that much).
There’s 5K of us still on the piss with 30k massive, lifelong, ever present Wednesday supporters down Wembley way. There’s talk of us winding it down & returning sometime in the next 24 hours.
Wembley '08 apart, probably the best away game of my life - highly unlikely I'll be involved in another as good.
Most of us old gits on here got hooked on city when we was kids . Now it's going to be a case of no one to take our places when we kick the bucket. Us oldies who care about that seem to be really out numbered by people who don't give a **** I would rather kids still at school got in for FREE especially when Hull City have so many empty seats. Without younger fans Hull City has no future in my opinion Until real concessions come back I wont step foot in the Kcom That's just my view of course
Those pictures are in no way representative of the City fans in attendance on Saturday. All ages were there. The photographer evidently did his shoot at 2:30 when only Tiger Travel types have arrived and younger folk are spraying piss weak lager on my sleeve as I try to get a slash.
That amount of away fans was a one off if we're honest. It was a time Of the feel good factor after 2 decades of lows.
It wasn't a one-off, we took similar numbers to other games, I remember games at Barnsley and Blackburn that weren't far off (examples off the top of my head).
