Even Charlie said it in the post match interview. Weird.

Not sure how he can jump upwards when his body position is how it is after he gets a toe to the ball. It is one of my main gripes in football though, when a player tries (and succeeds) to get out the way of being clattered and doesn't get a foul, so maybe I am viewing this from a biased perspective

Sorry mate cant agree........if you look in the first section you will see the rear toe of the players is already facing down for the dive......I see it as he is not actually in contact with our player until he is on his way down. Our player's rear leg has no bearing at all so he wasn't scissored

Sometimes you just despair of so called sports journalists. According to the Times today Redmond had a much improved game on Sunday as a consequence of his little chat with Pep Guardiola on Wednesday.

Wow it's funny reading the first half reactions in this thread... Sounds like we were completely awful when we weren't at all really, just a few points as can't be arsed with a really long post:

-Thought a draw was a fair result.

    - good to see Austin score again, seems to be getting fitter.

    - At time of the incident I thought it was a dive, not seen it back yet.

    - Redmond made a hugely positive impact.

    - Still not convinced that Virgil and Wes is our best cb partnership.

    - Moss was appalling.

    - We still need to be braver in possession, particularly against teams around us in the league.

Only if you think Brighton was a good result. There for the taking IMO.

    - good to see Austin score again, seems to be getting fitter.
Totally agree. Fitter than ever perhaps.

    - At time of the incident I thought it was a dive, not seen it back yet.
Thought it was a pen, but still not 100% sure either way.

    - Redmond made a hugely positive impact.
Bar the assist, I thought he was average.

    - Still not convinced that Virgil and Wes is our best cb partnership.
Every time I start purring over Wes, he does a brain fart. But we are lucky to have 4 v/good CB's.

    - Moss was appalling.
Tough game, think he did okay.

    - We still need to be braver in possession, particularly against teams around us in the league.
Braver, more positive & commit. Don't wait for a goal to figure things out.

One final point, we really need to sort out this captain situation. There definitely seems to be a need to shoe horn either Davis or Yoshida into the team so we have a captain on the pitch.

When the team was announced before the game people seemed surprised to see Davis alongside Romeu, but i said before the game somebody is going to need to be dropped for us to have a captain that MP2 seems to find essential to have. The problem is with the players we have now that is really unbalancing the side. I think we need to start thinking of who is going to be playing every match that could start to take over for the future.

I did say a fair result, as in on the balance of play. Not a good result imo.

Thought Redmond showed willingness to run at them more, think it suits him being a sub the moment.

With the CBs I just think they are too similar and Maya compliments either of them better.

Forgot to add it wasn't really Boufals day yesterday, still involved into some good stuff but just had one of those days. Glad he's getting a run now though and probably the first name on the team sheet attacking wise.

Also noticed that Ryan got the armband when Davis went off... Maybe not as sulky as we think?

Is the captain that important these days though? A good team should have leaders all over anyway.

Not entirely sure why Romeu couldn’t be captain tbh. (There’s another, really obvious captain, who continually organises and cajoles, but no, we can’t give it to him, really).

That was a horrible moment. From the reaction of the away teams players, I thought he had snapped his arm.
