Hadn't realised Ritchie has been playing with a broken wrist for the last couple of games mind...

Plus he's played pretty much every game - must be due a rest at some point

Well, I've had some time to think about what I just don't like and, to be honest, I'm not entirely sure. First and foremost, I despise the gulf in clubs. As was pointed out earlier, none of the top 6 have lost against the rest of the league. It's a widening chasm and it's really making me think "what's the fcking point?". I feared this when we did well last season; does anybody want to be a yo-yo club? With the fat one in charge we'd never have the vision or investment to do what Everton have done over the years, what Watford are now doing. We're taking a punt on cheap buys with limited scouting resource and a fcking gash youth set up. Heardman's been on the first team bench once, and he's fcking 22. Our one decent player jumped ship for Everton. We're knackered in every way. So it's becoming a monumental struggle just to stay interested in football itself. Morata wasn't exactly great, but on his own cost more than our entire team. Probably than the entire squad now. How do you even hope to be competitive?

Well, there's a question in itself - is picking Diame, Manquillo, Perez giving even the remotest chance of being competitive? Every week we suffer these players and others doing the same tricks. Perez falls over with a breeze, can't actually control a football and is late to pretty much everything. Diame's not a footballer. Manquillo's like a schoolboy. Why are they getting picked? It's not a squad blessed with talent, granted, but these fckers are proven liabilities. Is Rafa trying to prove a point? 'Cos I don't think Mike gives a toss.

    It's weird, though.

Agree. Think Lascelles last season. We should reserve iudgement.

Am l the only one who is worried about Rafa?
He seems increasingly a little more despondent each week and is starting to whinge a little more.
All we can hope is that this takeover goes through and our new owners have a tad more ambition and desire than our current owner does.
It feels very fragile just now and if the sale falls through and Rafa leaves, l fear we will sink to new lows and not bounce back anytime soon.
Maybe it’s just this poor run of results and l am reading too much into things, but l cannot shake this feeling of dread.

watched the sky sports coverage . redknapp seemed doom and gloom against us ... that worst ever commentator smith well got no respect for that guy ,boring and misses things like that linesman the day

also . the over diving of hazard and the 400 odd million that ,chelsea have spent more than us over the last years ...

Rafa's tredding new ground after the string of recent defeats. We had a couple of games where we narrowly lost followed by a couple of heavy defeats - Rafa's not used to getting beat that often!
He clearly wants this uncertainty over with, together with some hugely important spending in January.
He's aware of the squad's limits, and must be pretty annoyed with Ashley's broken promises, that we can't even keep spending pace with some of the smallest clubs in the division.

I get the impression that he's patient though, and will plan to get the points that we're capable of getting.

Hope we get a new owner though. Cos if Ashley doesn't sell and Rafa leaves, I see a bleak future.

It's becoming obvious that Rafa thinks the takeover won't happen before the end of the transfer window and hence why he has been publicly vocal about our approach in the summer being wrong and that quality players cost a lot more than £5m. All these recent comments seem to be aimed at getting Ashley to sanction a bit of spending. It's going to be touch and go with relegation if we don't get 2 or 3 quality players in in January.

I think you need to stop Gayle scoring first for you in games.... doesn't seem to be helping!

Some pretty poor defending all round from you guys today for all 3 goals. Simple not tracking of Hazard for first, no idea what Ritchie was doing for 2nd, could have let it go for a GK (also was he playing LB today?). And then the 2 CB's manage to both duck out the way of it <yikes>

Then diving in for the pen. Pretty shoddy stuff all round, not what youd expect from a RAfa team.

    Liberated from the Mag

“Five of Chelsea’s bench cost £140m, with the two others being England defender Gary Cahill who was bought back in 2011 for £8m, plus Willy Caballero who Newcastle wanted as their first choice keeper in the summer but Ashley even blocked a free transfer move for him due to the high wages.

All seven on Chelsea’s bench would automatically have started for Newcastle and have been our best players”

Sums up what we were up against yesterday and how distorted Sky money and Champions League money and “foreign” investment has now made the PL.

It’s a **** state of affairs when the fortune of clubs dictates their league position. It’s not the game it once was.

Honestly mate I can't get into it now if you aren't in the top six you are just fodder whereas before you always felt you had an outside chance of doing better I hope to f uck it all collapses in the next 5 to 10 years so everybody just competes with what you have <ok>

Your team are lucky that they've been able to change manager so often...and that is all down to money. Without the sky dosh, you've have had to stick with those managers you forced out and would have been relegated years earlier.
