We aint exactly free scoring. We played with tactics to give us a chance of getting a point, or if the stars aligned, all 3. And guess what, it nearlly worked. Time wasting from the start of the game. Should have been at least 5 mins added on. Sterling scores within that 5 mins and yet you can't accept you got what you deserved.
You scored in the 96th minute. We're hardly the first team in history to time waste against a far superior side. 5 minutes was added on for it in the second half, you scored in the 96th minute. Injury time displayed is a minimum time, so it is what it is. I can accept that we lost. I can accept that you're the better team. But I don't think we 'deserved' to lose because that implies that we played badly and got battered, we didn't. We stifled the best attacking team in the league, could have easily gone into half time with the lead and only lost in the last seconds. I don't think you could have complained had we come away with a point, but we didn't we lost. Congrats.
The really funny thing here is that you’re arguing like someone who had had a great injustice against them. Take your three points and go away. There is no “got what we deserved” at all and the way that your manager and team celebrated showed they had really struggled to out do a team that you didn’t expect to be so hard to beat. His reaction and interview showed the world how hard it was and how he was struggling to work it out. You did beat us, so just trot a long with a little bit of grace mate and leave the bitterness to us.
I say it after teams are defensive against us....no team has to play to suit you, they play to get a result. Like Burnley did against us. It's quite a compliment really how many teams do play defensive against us....hold out and hope their one shot goes in is their best chance. Really worked recently, but hopefully we'll make it harder for them in the future by scoring more goals.
