Set to lose £24 million this year a report has deemed the losses are unsustainable as Sadiq Khan takes control. It states that contracts must be renegotiated, so West Ham's dream home is fast turning into a nightmare. In the Championship and having to pay market rates on a half full ground, couldn't happen to a nicer club...

Maybe I'm being too simplistic but if the government were dumb enough to give them a lucrative contract, surely they have to still honour that contract as stupid as it is.

I thought you were talking about us!
Agree with RTID, I won't knock a club in trouble (unless it's Chelsea). Never had a problem with Spam and most of my Spam mates didn't even want to go there in the first place.

They did a deal with Boris. Some people will never learn.

I doubt the contract can easily be renegotiated, if at all - it’s just lip service from the Mayor I think. Whatever the deal was, the stadium was just another white elephant fallout from the Olympic BS of a legacy. Without the Hammers regularly losing there, the place would have probably just remained derelict or perhaps home to about 3000 Orient supporters. A horrible waste of public money that could have otherwise built a hospital.

We haven’t got the staff to use a hospital.......

Speaking as an inveterate cynic the London Olympics were superb and worth whatever it cost. I thought the intention was to down size the stadium for mixed use, it was built as a temporary structure.

I remember thinking at the time that Wet Spam announced the move that there MUST be an FFP issue. They effectively gained a free stadium. What goes around, comes around.

Got a few mates who are Hammers - none of them like the 'Dildo Brothers' and would far rather be back at the Boleyn.

In these instances it's always the fans that really end up suffering - the main protagonists will no doubt eff off into the sunset with their pockets stuffed with cash.

Ultimately when I really dislike a team I want them to lose/fail but not to go out of business - otherwise I wouldn't have anyone to direct my venom at.
