I agree with the previous poster KiwiSaint ( he won't read this because I'm on his ignore list for being politically incorrect ) what must Gabbi do to get a game? Last night when Long was replaced by the lad from the Bricklayers Arms Austin we lost our chase/outlet ball and invited pressure because of this for the last ten minutes or so. Btw Austin didn't even touch the ball in that time and looked like my 83 year granny could run faster than him! Really feel for Gabbi but for me it goes to show MP2 is a bit clueless, heaven only knows what he was thinking for that sub! As for Redmouth....well anybody who's that chirpy after losing to a last minute goal can't be that passionate about the team or playing for Saints. If that had happened to me I would be totally gutted and not about to give some smart arse comments to the opposition manager. How MP2 starts him over Soppy is a mystery but then a lot of what MP2 does is a mystery........lol
Reminds me of something my Dad's mate said to me a couple of years back (or maybe last year): "We have a young, talented squad with a manager who knows what he is doing and that fills me with hope and optimism for the future, and as a Southampton fan that is just the worst ****ing feeling imaginable"
I read that as "I love your Brexit smile". Which inspired worrying images of Emmanuel Macron cooing at Theresa May, in the manner of a young Charles Aznavour.
Didn't expect anything from that at all, but their 96 minute winner does sting a little. Still, sounds like it's all coming together. Carry that into the Bournemouth game, and we should do well. Any idea how bad Cedric's injury is?
P I wondered if MP had mentioned to his mate Pep that he has a talented player who is very skilful on the training pitch but has got an attitude problem which MP had tried to improve without success (maybe a subtle way to put out feelers to move him on) and Pep thought he was doing both MP and the belligerent Redmond a favour.
Some of the stuff I read about Redmond on here infuriates me to no end. Not half as bad as what I hear at St. Mary's, mind.
He's been scapegoat number 1 for quite some time now. Though he was actually never given a chance in the first place by a large section of our 'support', because of some off the cuff remark supposedly comparing him to Thierry Henri.
I rated Redmond more than most last season, but i think he's been worse under Pellegrino. He can play better than he has done this season.
I shared your despair at that moment. Redmond had a yard on the defender and should have steamed outside him, but he rarely goes on his left side. Could have got goalside for a one on one with the keeper, or drawn a free kick outside the box (possible red card) or a penalty, but as you say, he took the safe option and came inside and played the ball back. The only thing on his side, from his action, is that Lemina forced the corner from which Yoshi should have scored/got his shot on target.
Certainly. But he's not the only player who has been way below what he is capable of this season - yet he seems to get way more stick than most.
Redmond is capable of more than he is showing at the moment. He is a happy go lucky lad, but he needs to knuckle down before his career drifts by.
