I honestly believe he will elect to stay with us until at least next summer, after that depends on what progress we make second half of this season!
If this is Maddison you´re talking about Dave, I´m sure he´ll go if the right offer comes along, and he can sense that we´re going nowhere - and who could blame him, anyone ( especially a young player like him) in their right minds, would do likewise.
I just think that now he is appreciated by the management, the squad and the fans will encourage him to stay for the season. Don't get me wrong, he will have many suitors!
I´m sure you´re right Dave, and although the grass isn´t always greener elsewhere, in our current situation, and the foreseeable prospects, and his, I think in this case, it almost inevitably will be.
How much of this is fact I have no idea. Most / much of it we knew already but still quite scary. Mick Dennis on the clubs financial health. http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...ey-took-a-punt-thats-why-we-are-where-we-are/
Followed by some excellent and passionate comments!! Some of which are quite worrying re our future and I can see our attendances gradually falling away, but D&M seem totally unconcerned, safe in the knowledge that Tom will take the reins. I don't know what the answer is whilst our 2 'sick notes' continue banking their excessive salaries, whilst contributing NOTHING to the club and whilst we can lambast AN for recruiting such players, let's not forget he also signed JM who will eventually be sold for a handsome profit which will go some way to balancing the books. I must admit to being slightly in favour of external investment and whilst I admit there's a risk involved, 'burying your head in the sand' is NOT an option!!!!
Don´t worry JM, we all know we´re better than this , at least some apparently do anyway. Personally I have no faith in Farke whatsoever, and nor am I particularly enamoured with Webber either, and while those two remain the top two footballing people at the Club, I can´t see us improving. Delia and Michael are the least of our problems at the moment. As Dennis said, they took the plunge and opted for a new direction, now it´s up to the rest to make it work.
I will say that I prefer the new set up and despite us going through a dreadful patch, I have some faith that it WILL work, but DF HAS to give youth a chance. On Saturday, I would have loved to see Cantwell come on in place of Wes for the last 15 minutes and IMO he MUST at least get Godfrey back in January!!!!
Just saw this on twitter and had to respond Jon Dunn@cromercanary For me, it was more about #AlexNeil selecting him every single week and leaving #Pritchard & #Maddison completely out of the picture. #TeachersPet and rarely, if ever deserved that unreserved backing from AN. #NCFC Little Norwich@littlenorwich There is that, and I agree, but signing someone on big money and wages and then not playing them would make him look fairly out of control too Jon Dunn@cromercanary But surely you, I, AN has to pick a team to try and win a game of football. Naismith stuttered and looked like he'd lost interest early on yet still picked regardless? And #Pritchard cost almost as much, yet he was readily abandoned (until #Irvine took over)
I think you missed the most obvious objection to that tweet. Actually most had at the very least some objection to signing him. In fact I think the range went from; We'll give him a chance but don't know why we are signing a player who is old, expensive and has never been prolific in the PL. To; this is utterly stupid, he is rubbish, old, rarely scores, is another bloody useless Scot, WHY!!! Honestly I can't think of anyone who actually thought it was a even half sensible signing at the price paid. Bah!
Perhaps those speculating that Madders will leave in January can explain why he chose to celebrate his goal by running over to high five with DF. He is getting good game time and developing his game. I think he's better off staying for now, but the time will come if he continues improving.
Another column lamenting the stupidity of offering sicknotes like Naismith & Jarvis such long contracts when our spot in the PL was never assured http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...zon-time-for-the-yellow-army-to-brace-itself/
It's staggering how many people have 20/20 hindsight vision. Even buying a Messi or a Ronaldo is no guarantee of a good player. Sadly it is always a matter of hit or miss
