Unsworth (on being told that Joey Barton had criticised him): ''The day we listen to Joey Barton is the day we should all pack up and go home''.
It's totally stupid. On the Niasse foul the referee reviewed the footage afterwards (as always) and stood by his decision. 2 game ban anyway.
Just mad really. 6 months ago braying about Champions League, spent 200 million, paid off the lying Dutchman and the next level is . . . . Footballers made of cheese and Sam (resting in my account) Allardyce.
https://greenstreethammers.com/2017/11/28/west-ham-southamptons-win-everton/ A blog discussing what West Ham can learn from Saints v Everton. It made me think about the best result for us. Obviously we want both of these inferior teams to draw, but if one has to win....which? I can't dislike Everton much now Koeman has left....wouldn't be fair after their kindness on Sunday. I have a more lingering dislike of West Ham...without quite remembering why.....apart from the fact they were the biggest threat to our automatic promotion....or was it their manager? That was Sam Allardyce, wasn't it? I suspect that Everton may yet sort themselves out if they get organised. So a nice 0-0 draw is best.
I would have liked Everton more, If they hadn't gone straight back to trying to do what they did with us to Watford and Silva.
It's amazing how many teams we dislike for a variety of reasons....some of which happened in the Bronze Age.
I don't dislike any teams, so much as they just don't really figure on my radar. However, Everton popped their little head above the parapet and waved a few quid in front of Koeman, and that was it. What's really, really annoying is that we had a relatively good thing going with Ronald. We liked him for quite a few reasons. World class player. Highest scoring international defender ever [he made several strikers look stingy]. Good manager with the right profile to lift the club. And great performances and results. There was very little not to like and it all reflected very well on SFC. And Everton ballsed that up for both clubs in the end. Which is what can still really piss me off if I think about it too much.
I had noticed that some of the posters on here might need carbon dating if you wanted to know how long they've been supporting Saints.
Brighton v Palace tonight. Was speaking to a steward at the Amex after our game there and was saying how surprised I was that the first meeting in over 5 years is scheduled as a night match. Unless it's not that fierce? Wouldn't know tbh as I've never fully understood it. Logistical nightmare that ground too, put it this way the police/stewards may be hoping for a decent result for Palace.
Claude Puels Leicester side playing some good stuff and 2 goals to the good against a top 6 side. Interesting.
