It's all mixed with political ****, but how do you see the everyday forces people? There's lots of stories about them going all psycho But the Yanks seems to love their forces, as they are shallow as ****, as Vietnam war showed. But its just a political game By those to scared.. Anyone ever tempted when younger, or still?
Fighting for a country, for me is beyond stupid. Why fight and kill other people based on pure chance and luck? what I mean by that is I did not choose to be born where I was. I just was. The only other reason is like I said before, fighting for rich men to gain more wealth is really not for me.
Fight against an invading force that threatened the exsistence of my family? Too ****ing right I would at any age. Wage a war against people that have done nothing to me 1000's of miles away because they have oil? Go **** Yourself!
Agreed. I think there's a huge difference between fighting to defend your existence from an invading force as in world war 2 (although that war could have been prevented) and fighting to give rich men political, economic and strategic influence in countries that pose no threat to the peace of our nation.
My old man was an engineer in the RAF just after the war when conscription was still around ... when I finished my A levels and didn't really know whether I fancied Uni or just getting a job I actually went to the RAF recruitment offivce in Leicester and was considering signing up as a Flight Lieutenant ... didn't obviously ...
My Father was a flight Lieutenant during the war and flew 3000 hrs coastal patrol/convoy escort in Sunderlands & Catalinas. He never flew again after the war.
