So, unless you need to exert your moderator privileges, give your pov and move on, as, most of the time we all do. What's your thoughts on the Trust issuing a summary that said **** all about the agreed actions that the owners claim?
Agreed. I don't get why the committee said concessions are a point of principle. It's about affordability. Whether that's more diverse use and better execution of zonal pricing or usual concession pricing doesn't really matter, as long as whichever method doesn't price anyone out. Played right in to Ehams hands with that.
That was my point of view. The summary just said there was nothing agreed, other than that there'd be another meeting in three weeks, where hopefully they'd move things forward. I spoke to Geoff yesterday and I'm more than happy with the approach he and the Trust are taking, I think there's little chance of them adopting the pricing model that they should be adopting, but I think Ehab's backed himself into a bit of a corner with the branding issue.
That certainly gave a better flavour of what was actually said at the meeting. IMO Geoff is handling it as well as anybody can possibly could at this stage. I can't see really anything the Allams could do if protests continue, which would not damage themselves more by doing it. If they were to do something, I could see a total melt down of the club.
According to Geoff if we don't do what the Allams want and continue to protest during the match they are going to hit us with a really big stick. For me the most important issue is concessions. The refusal to use Hull City makes them look like idiots. The refusal to have meaningful concessions is vindictive and nasty. It penalises the old and the very young. I hope the Supporters Committee is going to do present some alternatives to what's been offered, but I'm not optimistic after Geoff's interview.
Protest more Bring it on EDIT - I haven’t actually listened to the interview mind you, I can’t open it for some reason
Have the protest groups spat their dummies out? I can see it getting a bit nasty, because they weren't invited.
Ah, that’s fine, not good, but now I understand you; pot kettle is an understatement. Did Geoff explain whether or not those ‘actions’, detailed quite thoroughly by the club, were agreed by him and the other attendees and, if they were or were not, why was it not thought to be worthy of a mention? Out of a 3hr+ meeting, were they not extremely noteworthy? Or is my Discretionary Information Sensor giving false alarms? I thought MissingMinutesGate had highlighted the need for clear and honest transparency; it seems I was wrong - unless everyone is to have a phone number and an insightful conversation... I think it has always been plain that the latest incarnation of concessions is the final one, as it has the rubber stamp of PL policy. As for branding and backing into a corner, don’t make me laugh - what do you believe will constrict him that hasn’t previously.
Just listened to the whole of that and Geoff is taking a very sensible stance, like he says the next meeting will tell whether they are serious or not. I am slightly concerned about the "threat" that was made about if further protests were made during the game but we will see.
That certainly covered much more that the written Trust statement and that is odd in itself. I’m not sure referring twice to Ehab as a four letter word was either diplomatic or helpful to their stated desire for ongoing dialogue; it was just a gratuitous insult that will certainly have been noted. It wasn’t an Extraordinary Meeting as there are no Ordinary Meetings. I don’t understand this ‘test through brand guidelines’ nonsense. Geoff went to great pains to explain and give example of the HCC spat and their aversion to the word city. There is no need for a test, we know the answer. Another threat thrown into the pot - are these really the sort of people you would talk to?
What could this "big stick" possibly be I wonder? Just empty threats. One thing's for for sure, they're desperate to stop the protests. So protest! Protest and be damned!
I like what Geoff Bielby said during the HCST interview, and his / HCST stance over a longer period of time. I am deeply suspicious of what the Allams are up to. They are bullies are not to be trusted. And as was said during the interview it all boils down to a 4 letter word beginning with 'C'. How apt in their case.
I noticed my last couple of emails that have come from the club are displayed in my inbox as 'Hull City' as opposed to ... Hull Tigers / The Tigers However content wise from not a mention (apart from the league table) of Hull City ... The Tigers are back in town this weekend ... It’s 20% OFF EVERYTHING in Tiger Leisure .... TIGERS HALL OF FAME ... Reply email = noreply@hulltigers.com ~ Stalling tactics & smokescreens ~ who will play the next round / meeting for the better?
