Hull City have drawn up contingency plans but Leonid Slutsky has one last chance The City boss has the Bristol City game to save his job http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/hull-city-drawn-up-contingency-818914
Contingency plans eh ! It appears to be one plan and that is Nigel Adkins. If Len is sacked go and get Pulis til the end of the season. Pay him what it takes. Give him some money for January. He is a motivator of players and does not put up with bullshit. He gets the best out of players and has a strong system and work ethic.
I don't get this one game at a time approach to managers. We beat Bristol City and everything's ok until the next game. Lose that and he's sacked? Totally crazy. Sluts is either good enough or he's not. The owners are pressurising him mentally to resign to save money.
Maybe if he'd been able to bring 3 assistants and a decent transfer window like Mark O'Silver he might have stood a better chance.
That's Lee Johnson's game plan sorted. Counter-attack. If it's still a draw with 10 to go you will get lots of 2on2 / 3on3 chances.
If he really has got this one last chance it'll be interesting to see how the players respond. Do they want shot of him?
It feels like he's a lame duck now, not sure how that will help get the players to play. At first we were told he'd have till the end of the season, and since then there seem to have whisperings spread that he's going.
He comes across a lovely bloke but I don't want to be going to Walsall & Oldham next season so we get this sorted quickly please.
TBF, it looked like the players were up for it against Millwall. Effort wasn't the issue. Quality was (and arguably tactics, selection, etc). I didn't get any impression that the players were not fighting for the cause; quite the opposite.
They didn't though did they mate. He applied in the summer when Bruce resigned as we'd already gone up and he wanted to show off his talents in England. Our genius owners never even interviewed him..... They only then went back in for him after sacking Phelan. If they'd took him on in the summer we'd have finished upper mid table last season and he'd now be Everton manager as Ehab would have taken the £10m for him.... .
Len would not have took this job without knowing that McGuire and Robertson would be sold. Clucas, Davies, Huddlestone would have been a surprise to him. These players bought in a serious lot of money and I am sure that Len must have expected a better recruitment. He has not bought the back room squad that Silva had and has had no assistant so to speak. In my opinion he has not got a grasp of the championship and the way it needs playing. Has he also been given the **** end of the stick. Absolutely.
Wolves aren't playing the championship way. They are better than that. You don't need to be like the crazy gang, you can play your way out of this division with enough quality.
I agree Imperial but we don’t have the quality in our squad. We are seriously lacking in any real leadership on the field and off. Wolves invested properly in the summer we did not. Some of the other teams at the top are well organised and play to a clearly defined system which all the players understand, we do not.
On FB someone suggested that Adkins could not agree terms with the Allams. That could be why after everyone thought Millwall would be Slutsky's last game he is still with us. Other rumour is that Windass is lined up for Manager. (might have already been posted somewhere on this thread).
