He should have gone during the international window, new manager would have had some time to train and oversee the squad.
The longer he stays the bigger the damage will be done, add to that our squad is weaker also, then I think the boardroom dithering will seal our fate, he won't beat Bournemouth, and then we have a run of top 6 clubs which should see us pretty much buried. I have resigned myself to Championship football next season, even if we do have a change of manager, I think the squad is too damaged with mediocrity. ......
I'm not ready to give up yet until we are halfway through the season but i have a feeling that Clem will still be here in January when it will be too late for anyone to do something and we will be confirmed relegated by the beginning of March....
I'm normally the eternal optimist, but iv'e pretty much thrown in the towel at this point. Our squad is just far to weak for the premier league. When I think of our starting 11 and try to pick the best players in each area this is what I come up with; Best Defender... Fernandez Best Midfielder, ummm, Ki? Best Winger - Dyer Best Striker - (on current form) Abraham Im sure everyones answers would probably be different. But the point is, none of these players have ever once been the best in their area while playing alongside previous players or compared to. The owners have royally dicked us and we have absolutely no creativity in this squad.
A new manager can change that.......New blood and all that. My sources who are reliable as they work at the Liberty tell me that Clem is on his way out regardless as of results and Jenkins have been talking to pullis and is waiting for an answer if he is willing to come to the liberty. If they can work out a deal and pullis wants the job then Clem will be sacked. If pullis dont want the job then Clem will carry on....
Do we have player Pulis could work with? I can't see a manager who failed with WBA succeeding with us.
Do you really want Jenkins to choose the new manager again? A new DOF first please. I get the feeling there's a struggle on between Clement and Jenkins and whoever gets the Yanks ears will win.
Whilst I don’t like seeing managers get sacked just like anyone else & I wish for Clement’s sake he could have turned this around. The situation we’re in is desperate. He effectively ‘signed off’ that he was happy with this hapless squad in the summer, with his silence. If, as he’s portrayed in the past, he had a good relationship with the owners & the chairman, he should have been more open about it, he would’ve had the fans’ & media backing. He could have called them to support him & if not, could’ve walked away with his head held high & reputation intact. Now he’s a dead man walking & probably won’t be back in work anytime soon. So because off the ineptitude of the t0ssers running our club & his weak management, we’re stareing down the barrel of a gun. Looks like moves are being made to remove him, irrespective of what happens Saturday. As much as this squad is poor, I still think someone else could get enough out of them, especially if backed in January, to possibly stay up. To be honest, I’m past caring about our football style at the moment, I just want to see the team competing, win, lose or draw. So if it takes Pulis to do it, because let’s be honest, who the fvck else would want to come here, let’s have it. If he keep us up, hopefully the Yanks sell us on, or if not, at least get rid of Jenkins & have a short to medium term plan of what the fvck they’re doing with our club. If Pulis is to come, think he’ll tell Jenkins he wants guarantees of cash backing in January & a say on players he specifically wants to get us out of this mess. The other option is go down with a whimper, hopefully the t0ssers in charge fvck off, we get a decent coach who can restore our old football ethos & rise again. But I think that’s dream on stuff. If we go down, I think we’ll go down further & all those years of progress on & off the field, would have been for fvck all. Be 1983 all over again & what happened then. When it comes to our football ethos, going down will certainly not restore it.. We might just have to take a chance on someone like Pulis for the long term benefit of our club...
The best place to rebuild is in the PL. If we do go down it will be catastrophic for the club in financial terms alone and most clubs find it difficult to bounce straight back. At the moment the style of football is less important than the results and anyone who thinks differently is living in cloud cuckoo land. I wonder about the realistic expectations of the fans. To me we are never going to be more than a lower mid table PL club with the odd cup success now and then and quite often a battle to avoid relegation. So we have to recruit players and managers who are prepared to cope with that.
After how far we’ve come it will be nothing less than a disaster if we go down. We are ill equipped to go down & mount a serious challenge to come straight back up. We’ve got to stay up, Jenkins and the owners need to get acting on it before it’s way to late..
Can't say I've picked up any vibes about a struggle! That suggests Clement carries weight. It's fairly common knowledge that Jenkins laid into him after the Brighton game. I think Jenkins would have got rid of him by now if it weren't for the Yanks wanting to assess the situation (hence their appearances recently). Who knows who or what might be next in line?
TBH I expected Clement to be a perfect fit. Despite Derby he should have been a safe pair of hands given his background. A second Brendan.
That's good to know Swansea City and Bournemouth will be the first Premier League clubs to offer their transgender and non-binary supporters a gender-neutral title prefix. Coinciding with Saturday’s designated LGBT fixture, the Swans and opponents Bournemouth are pleased to be able to offer supporters the option of using the ‘Mx’ title, should they not wish to be identified by traditional gender categories. The ‘Mx’ title, which is pronounced ‘Mix’ or ‘Mux’, is available for all transgender and intersex people, as well as people who don’t identify with one particular gender or don’t want to be identified as being male or female. “As a club, we’re continually looking at ways to make our services more inclusive,” said the Swans' equality and diversity manager Lucy Norman. “Language plays a really important part in delivering this and ensuring that everyone feels welcome – regardless of age, gender or gender identity, sexuality or ethnicity.” Bournemouth general manager Liz Finney added: “We’re pleased to have been able to work with Swansea City on realising this goal and making football a more inclusive environment to be enjoyed by everyone.” The ‘Mx’ title will be rolled out across all major points of service with the Swans, including ticket and merchandise purchases, enabling new customers to opt for their preference. Alternatively, for those wishing to change an existing account to the ‘Mx’ prefix, supporters can do so by simply visiting the ticket office or by calling on 08448 156 665. For more information about Swansea City’s long-term equality objectives, supporters can view the club’s Equality Action Plan covering 2017–2020 available HERE.
Don't worry lads Bony has declared himself super fit and is going to bury Bournemouth, which will then see us go on a winning run!!!!............... And if you believe this horse manure coming from Jinx then all the best for Saturday.
He has Two dicks, One in his trousers and one on his head........Dickhead.... Jenkins will never change his theory that the Cheap option is the best option and when we were lower leagues it worked and to be fair to him he never had much option at the time......But you cannot use that system in the premiership as each season will get harder and harder as the seasons pass and just like in marriage you go through the 7 year hitch and if you want your marriage to succeed you make improvements.........Well we are going though a 7th season hitch where our club has been deteriorating these past 3 or 4 seasons and is screaming out for change in that period, Jenkins really believes his way is the best way and the reality is he is still in the lower league mindset and it is him that has to change if there is going to be any sort of progression in the club. I dont think for one minute he did not know that by selling our best players we would be weaker but in his theory he thinks he can replace these players and cut the wage bill and we will be fine.......Well we know his lower league theory today will not work and in our 7th season we really dont have to sell our best players and think we can replace them and you cant employ a manager who has no experience of playing in the top league......We need jenkins to pressurise the Americans that they have to significantly put more money for the right kind of players and pay the going rate for a manager that has the experience of running and making the club rise out of the ashes where we are at the moment because if we go down we will keep going down make no mistake....
A couple of points , the fact is we've wasted millions on players not deemed good enough by the manager , so the moneys' been there just not spent on quality. a decent scouting system not the current DOF may have made a difference and what money have the yanks put into the Club , you've said this since day one of their tenure that they've invested , they haven't all they've done is buy the shares from the rats , last January's transfers dealing were made by a short term loan against the Club
