40 million for 3 top class signings is excellent. Look at liverpool who spent 35 million on a fat guy with a ponytail.

Kaka is out of favour at RM and no-one will stump up the cash to buy him with his high wages - a loan deal is quite a likely choice. And why wouldn't he be convinced to come to a CL team where he would be playing every week so have a good chance to prove his worth to his manager at RM?

Hazard is an itneresting one - even if he wants to go to RM if they haven't bid for him i think we could turn his head.

Indeed - the top class players are out there for decent prices - it's just about findign them and convincing them your the best club for them.

If we brought in Kaka on a loan deal, we would find it much easier to convince other players we are going to be a strong contender this season and get them to sign on.

If we get kaka on a loan deal, and he returns to his old self, we're going to be deadly, regardless of who else we sign. Making the later rounds of the CL will make us some more cash, enabling us to buy even better players, or maybe just buy Kaka.

I sometimes wonder which world some Gooners live in, two or three payers away from doing well! Until the Chelsea match the reason we were where we were is the paucity of quality elsewhere in the PL has every body forgotten the WBA and Newcastle matches, the CarlingCup Final, the tedious displays against Leaugue one and Championship teams, the number of points lost through failing to make games secure Newcastle away springs to mind and the embarrasments against Man U, and away from the PL in the CL failing to win the group when we could and should have walked it to end up against Barcelona, no shame losing to them.
Last season was disatrous and foreshadowed the even worse prospects for this season.
Get real the club is danger of melt down as force in English football.

We are definately not in risk of meltdown. Your a doom monger and being over dramatic.

We still have a good quality squad who are up there amongst the best, we have just lost a key player. We will sign in a couple of new faces and we will stay top 4 no problem. The new signings quality will decide whether we just hold onto top 4 or whether we push for better things.

Are you crazy? Until the last 2 months, we were in with a chance of winning the league. To say that we're in meltdown is just daft.

    Kaka to us on loan?

Wenger won't touch him he's overpaid and past it.

Hazard, M'Villa and Jagielka = Excellent business.

M'Villa would be great he's a versatile DM and is built like a little tank. Exactly what we need.
I would swap Nasri for Hazard in a heartbeat (although I prefer Mata to both)

I sincerely hope there's some truth to these rumours.

Jayram it's no wonder you get some much stick aimed at you on these forums - your so blunt.

I'd hardly say Kaka, Hazard and Mertesacker would be panic buying. And i don't see what the problem would be with these players. Also the positions i put people in where not about who was the very best for each slot but more me trying to show the strength in depth available if we made 3 signings like those i mentioned.

Kaka is also definatly not past it - the man is 29 years old and still real quality - better than our current options for sure.

Since the situation was hypthetical i fail to see the need for your first comment about mertesacker as well.

Oh and for the record i'd much rather we signed Vertonghen than any other defensive player.

If I had to choose it would be Neven Subotic but the German Season is well and truely underway and I dont think we'll see many players leaving.

I agree, not sure M'vila is the best option.

I think we need some real creativity and someone who can pick out the direct defense splitting pass - we need someone of a more Fabregas style role - which is why i'd be happy getting Kaka in. I'm sure there are other options as well though.
